I have a 2016 Hyundai Veloster and my inspection due end of this month my check engine light came on maybe 2 weeks ago I brought to my mechanic he reset the light told me to I have a very small evap leak and to drive it which I did it came on again maybe after putting 50-70 miles on it but I bought a good OBD2 scanner and I reset the light same thing happend light came on after 50-70 miles called them up told them and brought it in I brought it there to fix the small evap leak I have code P0456 instead they reset the light again then they told me the smoke machine used to find a evap leak is broken then they told me to drive on the high way or expressway get on a exit and get off a exit problem is I can’t drive far distances I can’t drive on a highway or expressway I will be a nervous wreck I can only drive short distances and I should of told them that but i was very embrassed is there anyway I can get it to pass the only light that red and flashing is the o2S light everything else is green including the evap but the code is stored on my scanner it says pending if I get the o2s light from red to green will it pass emission they just reset the light and told me to drive on a highway or expressway and I can’t do that and I’m running out of time I have intill the end of the month to get it to pass or I’m in violation please can you help me and my other vehicle is a 2012 Honda accord last winter the battery died and I went to get it inspected and they told me it wasn’t ready and to drive it I put over 800 miles on it and it still not ready I have no check engine light but my scanner tells me the CAT and O2S are blinking red there not green like the others and I been trying to get it to pass since June that sticker has been expired since end of June I need to get it to pass because I know when my registration is up in March 2024 I will not be able to renew it. Can you help me I can’t drive on the highway or expressway as I mentioned there has to be another way I have no one else that can help me.

I replaced the TImp on my dodge caravan never had issues with passing the smog but now that I replaced that fuse box it shows all NA
The code doesn’t pop up on my scanner and I don’t have a check engine light. But when I go to the star station to get my Smog, it still pops up that the O2 sensor is faulty. Help?!

As of 2023 in California all models 2010 and newer needs 15 complete drive cycles before smog can be done. This is to prevent this type of quick drive cycles just to sell a car

READ IF YOU ONLY NEED ONE MONITOR SET. I only needed the O2 sensor to set and did the drive cycle 6 times, I even drove it for 2 hours for my 2020 chevy Traverse. If you only need the O2 sensor set do this 'O2 Sensor Monitor (O2):
Prerequisite: No trouble codes present, Intake Air Temperature (IAT) above 32 Degrees (F); Engine Control Temperature (ECT) is above 167 Degrees (F)
1. Idle vehicle 4 minutes (achieve closed loop)
2. Drive 3 min at steady speed above 50 mph
3. Drive 2 min at steady 40 mph
4. Drive 2 min at steady 50 mph
Worked the 1st time only 9 minutes and about 7 miles
Also instructions for the EVAP, EGR, and CAT, but I only needed the O2 sensor so let me know if you need those instructions

On my 03 grand marquis i disconnected the battery for 2 days with lights on then reconnected and all monitors are ready except catalytic converter and evap. But now my vin says blank how to fix that?
So, because I had open heart surgery, I did not get my car to smog testing until a week before it was due. It passed Emissions, but I was told I had to have a mechanic fix the rest. I hired a mechanic, and he said there was nothing to fix, I just had to drive the car more. But the DMV said I was not legally allowed to drive the car because I did not have a current registration. The amount of "wonderland" rules and laws to get a smog is driving me crazy.

I just ordered a scanner, different brand but looks like the one in the video, my car failed inspection, says fuel system not ready, inspection place is telling me to go to dealership,im not doing that, my wife's car failed last year and whe did a really long drive cycle and it worked, but everyone tells me that i have to get a scanner on these cars we have today

This is so complicated! And stupid. And complicated. Did I mention stupid. Bring the car up to 65 then take your foot off the gas and let the car coast to zero a couple times??? Where the F am I going to do that where I live. That along with everything else is so freaking stupid. Dont do that and they may cancel my registration Do do that and get a ticket or in an accident or some other stupid crap all for the boogie man emissions. Im not one of those people who thinks all pollution is fake but it is completely absurd they set up this things like that. Shove something in the cars tailpipe like a colonoscopy and see if the car is polluting and quit worrying about the absolutely minuscule atoms that potentially squeezed by my gas cap and let us all go about our day in a FREE country not run by creepy greedy tyrants.

Ive done many drive cycles on my 00 tahoe limited, i still have to clear my Cat and EGR(replaced) also AIR and EVAP not worried but only need 2 more monitors to clear

Here are my notes, hope it works. My secondary air pump had a cracked vacuum line I replaced but I don't drive often enough to reset the light before smog is due after 10 days of purchase.
Cold start
No ac, no Cruise control
Idle 10 minutes
Clear codes
35 mph 5 minutes
55 mph-65mph 15 minutes
Idle at stop sign in drive 3-5 min
Turn car off get gas turn car on
Addressing my final evap readiness, you said 65mph then coast to 1mph, in a manual do I throw it in neutral once I hit 65mph and coast down to 1mph or downshift and stay off the gas and break?
Have driven 0ver 400 miles, drive cycles up the ass, good battery, low mileage and good functional catalytic converter – FAIL (AUDI). Willing to pay for a new catalytic converter of over $1,500 if it will f'in pass or a dymo for $1G. They say the converter is fine. So, life has become going from parking lot to parking lot.
So you can still pass smog with evap on?
