How to Install a Shower Pan (KBRS Tile-Basin®)

Installs in 30 minutes or less!

The Tile-Basin® (Patented) has become the most trusted ICC approved tileable shower base in North America. The Tile-Basin® is manufactured with KBRS Hard Core Technology, making it rock-solid and 100% leak-proof, guaranteed. The factory-attached perimeter flange is engineered to prevent water from escaping from the shower area behind the tiled walls due to wall seepage or a back-up caused by a clogged drain.

We can custom manufacture a Tile-Basin® to any geometric configuration imaginable, with any desired drain location that will connect to most major-brand residential and commercial tile shower drains. Our 27 standard sizes are ready-to-ship, and will connect to most of the popular 3-piece tile shower drains on the market.

The Tile-Basin® is factory equipped with a Perimeter flange and a KBRS Standard Curb in any combination that you specify. A HardCurb® is available as an upgrade.

  1. So you fur out the wall to fit the pan but now those walls will not line up with the rest of your bathroom walls!!!! Something you CONVENIENTLY covered up!!! Why be elusive?! It is what it is! Be truthful and candid!

  2. Furring strips are 1/8in thick?

  3. I plan on not doing tile walls but instead a quartz wall. Do I need to have Fur strips or is it best to do the showerslope?

  4. after installing the Kohler drain, I lowered it as far as it goes, but there is almost 3/4" height of the drain off the tile in shower floor. My tiles are 1/4" how do I make up the extra 1/2" ? Do i need to build it up with thin set or goboard? This must be an issue for many people. I need 1/2" tile but mosaic are usually 1/4" tile. Any suggestions please?

  5. Wrong< you can not do this < You should place a sheetrock, between the plywood and the thinset.

  6. how does the drain stay direct center if the wall gets strips on it plus half inch backer board? seems it would put the drain off center.

  7. Just got our custom Tile basin, Bench, and waterproof from KBRS. I was worried about the fit of the basin because it was custom but it was perfect! I’m watching all of the videos now so that I’m more prepared to install it tomorrow! I do have one complaint though… I was hoping there would be a cool T-shirt in the box like the one the guy is wearing in the video ;).

  8. Nice video. If you furr out the cement board in the shower, how will it sit flush with the adjacent drywall?
