Often the backlight inverters fail due to bad capacitors. In this video I’ll demonstrate how to replace them.

  1. What an ecological disaster in 2:13, those stores who waste so much plastic just to save a simple capacitor. They should deploy them in a far different way, friendly with the planet, and NOT packing each capacitor!!!

  2. RIP Fry's and Radio Shack.

  4. lol, 9 yrs and radio shack & fry's both went out of business 🙂

  5. im about to embark on my first monitor repair attempt tomorrow. i know there's atleast 1 ceramic capacitor that blew, let's hope it works out

  6. What if there is a problem in a cable?

  7. I also had to repair a Viewsonic LCD that had bad capacitors in the power supply. It still works. Did the same fix for a Samsung TV and it lasted a few years until the video board died. Unfortunately, even used, those boards cost way more than they were worth at several hundred $, so we just bought a new Sony TV instead.

  8. Same board as Samsung SyncMaster 🙂

  9. 2:11 " … or radio shack.. "

The last 5-10 years of their existence was pained.

  10. Or you could get a capacitor tester. Might save time.

  11. Hi, I have a Dell ultrasharp 2709w, have some problem of stay working. It can't be turned on sometimes. Unplugging it for a few hours always gets it working again. Could it be capacitor? If so, which one could it be? Thank you very much

  15. Ha, going to Frys or Radio shack.

  16. I think you should have went with Japanese capacitors to ensure they will work for another 20 years

  17. Laptops are better than desktops.

  18. Frys and radio shack? Sad…..

  19. Unfortunately now you basically have to go online to find all this stuff because there are no Radio Shacks or any other computer related stores or at least not in my area
