For all those who haven errors. Go in recovery mode and restore partition. Then down load the 4gb version of windows and install it with boot camp. It works 100%
Not really clear enough for beginners.
Would this still work today on an iMac mid 2010 using a USB memory? I upgraded to high Sierra to use more programs which totally F-D up my computer temperatures and I really want to downgrade back to El Capitan and install Windows instead so I can actually use my computer without worrying about overheating (upwards of 97 degrees Celsius!!). I don't dare use it anymore
El capitan boot camp does not give the option to locate iso just install from a Windows 7 DVD
When I try this is says โinsert installer diskโ just before the creating a partrition step. Any help would be much help thank you.
Whilst copying window files, the installation failed I know the video is old,but if anyone knows a solution please drop it.
It keeps saying not enough space available on disk but my usb is 32gb how much does it have to be
Guys trust me this process WILL NOT BE AS EASY AS HES MAKING IT SEEM. 90% of the time you will come across a fatal problem that will be impossible to fix, im hours and hours deep into this process and have nothing to show for it. You are better off going to the store and buying a new computer then attempting this.

Hi Emilio thanks for this helpful post. In following your instructions (MB Pro El Capitan) I do not get the option from Boot Camp to locate the ISO. After setting up the USB Boot Camp says 'Can't locate DVD'. Is there a work around this? My MB Pro does have a DVD drive – is that why it doesn't give the 'Locate ISO' option?
Upon installation my mac doesn't find a 'dvd' in a drive. How to tell it to recognise the ISO? Many thanks for your post.
got a "not enough space" message, i'm using a 64g usb stick…..what is wrong? don't know how to solve this….
Will i need the usb stick to run it after?
Boot Camp installation failed, why is my mac X EX captain desktop displaying that?
This video was helpful, but, i had to manually install windows on my usb using another computer with the Window Media Creation Tool and then plug that into my MacBook then manually go to the drive selection screen and chose my usb which was formatted in FAT (according to my macbook, I am not sure if it is FAT 32 or not). Why I did this was because my usb didn't have enough space even though it was a 16 gb usb, The actual space was 15.76 gb.
3 days of my life have been wasted trying to figure out what the problem was.
i dont see that creat windows 7 or later version…… its exceed
?
I got the message "The Windows partition has been removed and your disc restored to a single volume." And the second time I tried after downloding the 64-bit version, i got "Need 64-bit Windows 8 or later ISO file" And I don't know what to do. Could someone please help?
Useless an on my late 2008 mac it only allows WINDOWS 7 – no option for "later" – so this is completely useless to me. also causing some unwanted stress
I need a new tutorial because this one is OLD
