This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn’t getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes – maybe less.
Thanks to Nigel Chapman for this helpful comment about the timing:
“when you are timing these singer machines there are timing lines on the needle bar to help you get the exact timing required. When the needle bar is at the lowest position you will see two lines: one to mark the lowest point and then the other is used when the needle bar is on its rise. You stop on the second line then adjust the hook to the point where you stopped the needle. Then you should have perfect timing without guessing.”
But like what did you actually do? 🙈 all you said to do was loosen the screw but that did nothing for me and am I missing something please help 🤣
90 buck must be the standard to fix a sewing machine. That's exactly what they told me it would be just to look at it
You saved my $90 and it took less than 10 min! Thanks
You saved my $90 and it took less than 10 min! Thanks
Thank you. Yes, we pay a fortune in South Africa for these repairs. Nice and clear explanation. Have a great day!
the joy i experienced seeing you with my exact same sewing machine… amazing
I'm going to try and fix it myself thanks so much
Finally! Thank you!
We’ll be careful. It is easy to get hooked on sewing machine’s. You’ll become the major sewer. Enjoy.
Thanks
Hey, thank you. I did fix the timing on my machine many years ago. I am going to read through your tutorials and figure out what the devil is going on with my friends 60's era Singer. It has that weird drop in bobbin. Anyway, Thank you loads and tons for help and encouragement
does this work for a beretta b77 timing
Wow now I call this a how to video…thank you so much
Thank you so much. This timing thing has been plaguing me… I can't get anything done.
Mine keeps hitting something inside the bobbin or mechanism
Was she breaking and bending the needles as well ?
That’s amazing!
I like seeing / watching someone fix a sewing machine than having to pay for a 'pro' fix it!
Thank you! I will try & fix my timing, it looks just like my issue! I’m so happy I luck out like you. God bless you!
Good morning.
Am from Zambia and I bought an Empisal EC-2010 embroidery machine from South Africa.
It doesn't pick the thread from the bobbin and after sometimes it cuts the threads and give "no thread error".
Unfortunately, most of the tutorial don't talk about my machine. Will you kindly Talk about it?
