For some reason every time I do this I have my phone connected and can’t find the link, I have a newer version and it’s a ps4 slim. Every time I boot it up it says the storage device is not connected. Is there a solution to this?

You saved me a lot of headache, thought I was gonna have to buy a T8 torx screwdriver, but this was easy to do. Took the 860 evo ssd I had in my computer, formatted it to exFAT and got it into the ps4 without too much screaming lol

Do you need to download the firmware? Some people just replace the hard drive

Why did you wait until the middle of the video to mention that you need an external with downloaded firmware. Why not a list of needed first. To me this is backwards and I don’t understand the steps

can you download the software file on any usb drive? my ps4 slim is currently corrupted and i’ve tried multiple times to initialize but it says i need to update to current software, so i try updating and it says i need the usb, any help would be awesome🤙🏽
