Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Won't Work – How to Install a Secondary Heater to Remove Ice Build-Up

In this video, I show you how to take apart your Samsung refrigerator ice maker system, and modify/install a new heating pad in the icemaker. This is designed to remove the problematic “Ice Beard” that forms at the bottom of the ice maker which clogs up ice, and prevents the unit from working at all.

Its also important to check a few other pieces of the Samsung icemaker puzzle in the process, so there are also a few other tips & tricks in the video as you’re working with the ice maker too. With the heater pad, it should help you get back to making ice ASAP!

  1. Sir jobs milega 7year ka experience hai

  2. How has this worked out so far? Is the ice maker still having the issue or it got fixed with this new repair

  3. I'm about ready to buy a new fridge but I just ordered the parts and will give it a shot. I'll post back on my results. Right now I'm manually defrosting the ice maker every 2 weeks. I did the sealing with silicone with seemed to work for a few months but than it started icing up again. Fingers crossed.

  4. Down south they would call this a real P.I.A.

  5. Great video along with secondary heater kit for the refrigerator evaporator. Are these approved by Samsung? I'm concerned about liability installing aftermarket upgrade kits. If this is my own refrigerator, I'm not concerned, but I could see a problem if I put one these kit on a customer's and something goes wrong.

  6. Thank you Ben for this wonderful video.
I see you are rocking this new look.
    Best Regards brother.
    Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.

  7. Can't thank you enough for these videos

  8. I did the typical tube fix but used foil tape to seal instead of the silicone. The only downside is the ice comes out partially melted all the time. Would applying this fix and removing the sealant tape help get better ice and still prevent the freeze ups?

  9. Can't wait do this. The Fd had become ineffective for us. Thank you!

  10. Pretty telling when you have a force ice unit defrost feature. New def doesn't mean better that's for sure.

  11. You sound like the Lock Picking Lawyer of appliances. I work at an appliance parts store, and it is ridiculous how much Samdung charges for parts. LG is not far off as well. It's like they don't do testing at their facilities, they use us. It doesn't matter if they put out junk. As long as it's cheap to manufacture, they will make way more money than what they settle for in lawsuits, warranty jobs, and recalls.

  12. Iā€™m done with samsung products

  13. Thank you šŸ™ for all your repair tutorials! They have helped me so much!

  14. I been waiting for this solution. Now i can stop buying ice and start making again. Never will i buy a samsung or and ice maker in the fridge again.

  15. I unfortunately have a Samsung fridge. I never have ice buildup, but sometimes the ice maker will stop making ice. Ive hit the reset button, sometimes it works again, sometimes it doesnt. Any ideas?

  16. Yep. Got this issue but I'm going nuclear and getting a GE instead. Samsung came with the home.

  17. I want to believe…. going to give it a try. I already did the other fixes

  18. I finally went back to using ice trays. After 3 fixes I finally gave up and disconned the whole thing.

  19. Good video! Thanks.
We've had the Samsung fridge with the Ice Master for about 3 years and had the entire icemaker replaced under warranty after the first 10 months for this problem. It worked for a while and the problem started up again. Earlier this year I bought your heater with the larger drain tube kit and it has fixed the problem so far!
I do see a tiny amount of water (maybe half an ounce) coming out the chute before ice falls when filling a glass with ice.
Would I need to also add this extra heater to solve that drip, or would that be due to something else like the rubber seal on the door, or a cracked ice bucket? (I noticed my ice bucket is cracked at the rear and some plastic has broken off due to my yanking it out while it was stuck with ice.)

Your solutions are great and have helped for sure, but I still can't understand how/why Samsung would put this design on the market with so many problems!šŸ¤”

  20. Honestly brother you know how much I respect you I would never buy a Samsung anything if I have to add a heater to an ice maker I ain't buying it. How about the general motors washer and dryer but which one is better cuz I think LG has one what is your opinion thanks for reading this always watch your videos thank you so much.
