  2. Man, I have been lookin for this video. I had a rib out for over a month and tried the foam roller as suggested here. HEDS is a roller coaster! I can finally take a deep breath, though.

  3. I have spinal stenosis and I am trying this because it feels like my thoracic area is like bowed out like so tight also being 70 doesn't help osteoarthritis as well when I do this it's causing pain down in my excuse me butt cheek and down my leg enough to make me quick stop and try to get up

  4. What if I have a fractured or very badly bruised ribs?

  5. Its Sunday morning and I thought I was gonna haft to go to the doctor for my back pain I’ve literally been crying a little here and thier 😢 all morning in-tell I realized that my back and rib pain were connected.. that lead me to this video and I just here to say thank you so much you really saved the day your like a super hero ❤

  6. Thank you so much for this helpful information. I was having such intense pain mid back that I could not sleep for almost 2 weeks I tried everything every thing I could think of to alleviate it. These movements gave me absolute relief.

  7. Thank you so much for this video! I popped my rib out from coughing so much lol but the first exercise I felt a pop right away! My ribs are still tender though so I was wondering if that’s normal? Thanks so much for your help!!

  8. Thanks. I will experiment with all of them to see what works best. Right now seeing a DO for thoracic block–lots of work to open up the rib cage and stretch the abdominal muscles which got somehow very short. To then have a rib problem (i think this was the one fractured from a leg kick in karate class many years ago.) It doesn't usually bother me but all that work on the whole thoracic/rib is changing things. He told me to "listen to my body." In the middle of the night when there is one more reason I cannot sleep, listening to my body is "hearing" the roaring contractions on the bottom of my feet which cause trigger points which ….etc. Listen to my body? My body sounds like it is crying. Thanks again.

  9. As a professional horse trainer Ive had so many broken bones and injuries. Chronic nerve pain that made me give up my career in my lower back and butt. $50,000 in medical bills to a surgery center that never figured out I had a twisted and rotated pelvis and wanted to fuse my SI joints. Can you imagine how bad that would have messed me up? Fusing me together in that position? I don’t trust Doctors anymore because of it. I’ve spent a year stretching intensely. It’s changed my life and reduced my pain drastically. But my pelvis is still a little twisted and rotated, which keeps a rib pulled out of place and hurts in the middle of my back like no other. I’ve had issue with that vertebra turning upside down and now I can’t get it to stay in place, but this stretch helps more than anything else. So thank you for sharing. Hopefully I’ll get the sucker to pop back into place eventually!

  10. Avoid his tea party’s 😅😅😅😅

  11. I think I have had slipped rib for years and only heard about it now. I feel loose cartilage so something under my right rib and when I take a belly breath something rolls in there too.

  12. I think I have had slipped rib for years and only heard about it now. I feel loose cartilage so something under my right rib and when I take a belly breath something rolls in there too.

  13. I have to get a tennis ball but I found that a racquet ball works best and place it near the popped rib as closely as possible while laying flat on a hard floor or even standing up against a wall. I put a little bit of pressure on the ball and just roll it around to loosen up the muscles. Then once they are loosened up, I then put as much pressure as I possibly can on the ball and roll it around. I don't ever know which way the rib needs to go to get back in place, so I just wiggle around and roll the ball in all directions until I feel a sense of relief. That's how I know the rib is back where it's supposed to be. But, for the more severe the slip is, the harder it is to put it back in myself. I've gotten to the point several times where I absolutely can not walk and I have to go to either the emergency room or if I'm lucky I can get into a chiropractor within a couple hours.

  14. I have one of my lower ribs popped outwards (so that it feels like a lump) after what I believe was a rib dislocation a year ago. The lump appeared right away so not a fracture heal. I really want to get this back in line. Will these work for the lower ribs please? (Before I buy a foam roller). Thank you

  15. I went to the ER from pain caused by this before, it can scary. I just found this in desperation and honestly I could barely do the first round of stretches from pain. But by the time I did them the 3rd time I could take modest breaths without too much pain. Thank you for this, seriously!

  16. Gosh you look just like my ex father of child my ex Casey Ryan Moorefield sadly passed away from heart failure earlier this year 2023 😢😢😢💔😭😭😭

    But I'll be okay. 🥺

  17. Does this work for all the ribs?

  18. I've had a spinal fusion on my lower spine, but have a rib out of place on my upper right-hand side. Feels like its below my shoulderblaade. I'm afraid I'm going to hurt myself if I do this wrong. I'm in so much pain I can't breathe in all the way. Please help!

  19. Thank you for this video, it's really helped me.

My lower ribs were out 2 weeks ago, from lifting a heavy tent pack. I couldn't cough, sneeze, blow my nose or lay on them, as they were SO painful! I was needing osteopathy or chiropractic. I couldn't get to my osteopath and then found this video here. I used the exercises and also did some daily self massage to my intercostal and spinal muscles and I'm fully recovered! I'm so grateful 😊

I'm carrying on the exercises because I'm hoping they'll help prevent the same injury happening again.

  20. this totally worked! Thank you!

  21. Hey Dr. Rowe, I did the first exercise because my rib felt out of place and I've had discomfort and swelling for two years and while doing this exercise I had a sharp pain in my lower left rib after I stretched. It now feels like my whole rib cage, from the front and back is swollen, and I have trouble getting a full breath. Can this happen if the rib moved quite a bit. I googled, maybe it's costochondritis. What do you think? Thank you!

  22. @SpineCareDecompression: I enjoyed watching your video; it was simple and easy to follow.

It seems like there’s a lot here for problems with the ribs that are especially at the back, or the true ribs.

I came on here looking to pop some ribs back in place.

The thing is there are lots of videos out there, to deal with the true ribs. But my problem is one of the floating ribs, maybe two of them.

I sat down to eat lunch two days ago, and when I stood back up, I heard a fleshy pop sound, and felt a lot of pain on one side at the front, at the level of the floating ribs.

It’s painful, and it’s slowing me down in life, so I’m really hoping to find a video that deals with getting those guys Back when they need to be.

Can you recommend a video that does that, please?

I had a quick look through your channel and didn’t see anything specific to that, although certainly that doesn’t mean it’s not there. It just means I didn’t see it.

  23. I have tried everything for my rib issue…these exercises are the best…thank you so much, I can actually breath again without pain

  24. Hi doc good afternoon what's your insta or fb cuz i have something to message you.thank you

  25. Could tight QL or PSOAS create rib tightness between intercostals or just in general for that one side to be tight? Perhaps lats as well? I’m just thinking about muscles that may attach to ribs

  26. THANK YOU! I swear I popped a rib or 2 out or cracked them.
I've had the same ribs out before n didn't know until a doctor asked if I knew I had ribs out. Nope. He adjusted me n I as surprised. Found out I have hEDS, have had hip pop out 2x n my ribs were hurting after jumping up from pool to reach for something. I ended up hitting the top rail w L ribs. At first I felt bruised, then a couple of days later, I would have sworn outta place, maybe even hairline fractures. I iced, tylenol, ibuprofen, I couldn't bend or reach, especially because I've got Meniere's and have vertigo. I called my pcp to ask for an xray. ERs where I live are the waiting rooms to…. lol Anyway, doc wouldn't give an order until they saw me IN NINE DAYS! I went 2 more days, yelping in pain w moves, as I thought I'd tough it out. Earlier today I called for a ride to the ER after bf off work. Ok. In the meantime, I searched YouTube for the heck of it. The first stretching was unbelievably helpful!
I know there's always a disclaimer and I should not have tried the doorway stretch as I have 3 level ACDF plus levels above and below surgical fused themselves together, so the front of my throat is a little tight from the stretch, but I have to take a diazepam to be able to swallow my food, so I'm not worried about it.
I am just amazed at how helpful the stretching was!! There have been and are no visible bruises, and I bruise like a 10 day old banana, which is why I figured it HAD to be more than just bruised from bumping pool.
Thank you thank you thank you! Saved us a trip to the ER n now we can go out to dinner instead. ❤

  27. Thank you for this helpful information! Earlier today I was in my garage reaching for something way down pressing my abdomen against something and my lower right rib caged popped inward and now just feels really sore. I've had this happen before, but not as severe.

  28. Are these exercises for people with EDS? I didn't seem to have much luck with them

  29. I have the same rib that keeps popping out. What can I do if I can’t get my arms behind my head to use the foam roller because the rib hurts too much?

  30. Finally found out this is causing me pain after 20 years 😕 will try these next time it goes out. Just had it done at the chiropractors 😅

  31. Thank you! The ability to give another person drug free pain relief is an amazing gift. The act of using that ability (and especially free online) shows compassion and sets you on a higher level! Constant pain can be debilitating and has a major effect on quality of life!!Thanks again.

  35. great, clear demonstrations of several ways to help readjust a rib and keep them in place. thank you SO much!

  36. I wanna stress the importance of doing the stretches and excersizes as well. Been doing just the roller or various hard objects to pop for years until I got my crap together and started doing the routine in the video and I’ve noticed such an insane difference from just a few times a day

  37. Great video! Popped it out over stretching. The genie stretch helped a lot and then I felt it go back in on the foam roller. I know I'll be sore but at least it's back where it should be!

  38. oh i got a few pops after the skatepark yesterday. thank you for sharing. this is prime gold on youtube

  39. My lower ribs not the lowest just medium is pushed inwards idk what to do please someone help me thanks

  40. i do all these stretches, a little on the extreme level.
