  8. Hi Daniel ! Greetings from Costa Rica! Can you share with us what is the first cooor you use as based ? Isn’t just pure black 🥴
I m going to paint a bird that comes to my trees all the time her name is Toh or momoto ceja turquesa (Eumomota superciliosa) ! I thought to paint the based white and from there, add the turquoise and other colors, but watching this video makes more sense dark based? 😢 help please 🙏🏼

  9. Thanks Daniel loved the dialogue but to be honest (and I don't want to sound like a troll because I'm not one) but your bouncing around and jiggling your shoulders nearly drove me insane.. any chance you could just relax and stand still, I really love your art… and would like to re-subscribe…uurrgghh BTW i would love to try your technique as I photographed a superb kingfisher in my back yard recently, those turquoise colours were magnificent cheers from Oz and apologies for the comment

  10. Wow! This piece is absolutely magical. Thanks for sharing your hard-earned tips 🙂

  11. I found over 50 years ago, using an airbrush as a glazing tool…you are stacking colour dots on top and not mixing or smearing the paint…works really well with watercolor. At an art show in Sydney back in the early 80's I sold several paintings of local wildlife…one artist asked me what was my "Trick"(?) … I told him about learning to use it in the 1960's in college… he told me I cheated??? So using a straw hand brush is cheating since i didn't use an $80 "flogging brush" doing fake wood grain??? Just a thought…

  12. Thanks for pointing this out, very helpful.

  13. Would it make a significant difference if you used white gesso vs. white paint?
I can't recall specifically what the issue was but I recall white acrylic paint causing issues (difficult to work with), but its possible I wasn't letting it dry completely. I heard him emphasize the drying in this vid, so maybe ill try again and make sure its dried this time.
Thanks for making these videos. They're informative, easy on the ears (!😉) and a good length (not to cursory, not dragged out). Well done!

  14. What are the names of the paints that you used?

  15. Those birds turned out gorgeous!

  16. Thank you, I just started a painting and was getting frustrated that I couldn't get the vibrancy I wanted for this golden hour piece. Your a life saver man!

  17. Unbelievably beautiful, that edge with the blurred background makes it so lifelike…it's so 3d……i used your blurred background for my kingfisher painting but didn't know about this video till i finished.
    So…….
I'm going to do another and compare, thanQ for sharing your talent, you really are a fantastic artist….💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  18. Thank you so much for this advice. I have been making the mistake of mixing in white and getting frustrated with the lacklustre results in so many paintings. Your channel has really helped improve my work
