  1. Does anyone have any tips for how to ensure you screw the cabinets into studs? Stud finder won't be very effective because the cabinet back wall will be in the way so it is very easy to miss a stud and insert a screw that then needs to be removed and rescrewed, which would leave a hole from the first attempt

  2. Love the kitchen on a budget. A rather large budget. 😛

  3. That is one complicated way to even out a tilted floor. Every kitchen cabinet I know of has adjustable feet overhere in Germany.
You just draw the counter top height with a laser level on the wall and adjust the cabinets accordingly.
That being said, before even installing a kitchen I would take care of the floor problems first. 2 inch within such a small distance is not really acceptable.

  4. "Yeah, it's my first day, ya know?" 🏆

  5. Could you tell us where the cabinets were ordered from ? Thank you

  6. How fun it'll be to seal that granite sink over and over and over.

Not sure how I feel about a marble island. A main area for kitchen activity and you're giving it over to marble?

Either way, fun install. Nice video.

  7. I always love Kevin's comments: "Yeah, there's a sink by the window." "Oh, so the oven is going to be raised off the floor."

  8. The cabinets were still slightly off. Looks like 1/32 or 1/64th.
You can very clearly see that @3:51. Tommy with his carpentry magic
    got em flush though. 😁

  9. I’d love an episode where Tommy makes a mistake and gets frustrated 😆

  10. Cool video to watch. But most people can't afford custom stone sinks… this kind of work is for totally rich people. Then the maid will keep everything cleaned

  11. I simply feel bad for whomever has to come in here 20-30 years from now and redo Tommy's work. Screwed and glued galore!

  12. What screws are you using to secure the cabinets?

  13. I don’t like having everything loaded on the front and back shims

  14. Granite countertops have got to be one of the worst choices you could ever make. Well, that and voting democrat

  15. Are all kitchens in the USA made like this, or this just a very old video? I sell kitchens here in the UK and all base units come with detachable, adjustable feet which can be used to level the units. The base units also come with service voids at the back of the units to allow for plumbing pipes, etc.

  16. I havent watched yet but i bet at least a few people watched this 9 minute video and bought a saw and level and started cutting lol
OK watched a little, then the guy headed to Home Depot for 2.5 inch shims lol

  17. Why did you put the tall cabinet in first. I was taught you have to put the corner cabinets first. Can you explain

  18. I think it would of been better if the sink was made from a single chunk of stone, rather than a bunch of slabs glued together

    probably more expensive

  19. Oofta! Made my lower back go into spasms watching them move that granite…

  20. I love the color of those cabinets. You can have so many colors around the kitchen to design so the kitchen will pop. Great choice that was made by the homeowners. You can learn so much by watching this show. Keeping cabinets level what person would care about doing a great job like that? Wow! hmhm There are some great carpenters out there that would do the same.

  21. Cheap cabinets. Particle board lol

  22. Tommy, over the decades I have learned so much from you and now I will put that knowledge to work as I build my own house here in Alaska, thanks

  23. The care and perfection the technicians show is appreciable. Good work ethics.

  24. so the biggest workspace in the kitchen is useless bc it's real marble. That ppl prob dont even cook.

  25. I can install that kichen in 1 day

  26. Are there any cabinet makers that can explain what you're supposed to do about that 2in uneven toe kick?

  27. 2:32 What, where is the quality work that TOH use to do? This is from way back in 2002, don't they have some new stuff to show us. Really starting to wonder about the info we get from TOH.

  28. On next week's New Yankee Workshop, Norm makes a kitchen full of fine cabinetry out of particleboard.

  29. lol first day looks like back to basics

  30. Why does no one use large head cabinet screws anymore? I see so many cabinets hung with construction screws set into the particle board backs which looks bad just like at the 2:30 mark in this video. Pre drill the hole and use the proper screw.

  31. Are you guys reading my mind? I was literally looking for this yesterday! Thank you!!

  32. Why didn't they hide where screws went, hide behind hinge at front, back ones , OK you don't see them. As for the screws at 2min 30sec, sacked lol

  33. Uppers first much easier

  34. I love watching Tommy work. The skill and knowledge he has within him awes me.

  35. Beautiful island but a kitchen island is meant to prepare meals on and if it chips and scratches easily seems like a waste

  36. Now u guys r probably thinking, hey TOH who da men we da men..STOP ..ur not Joe Namath ….stick to ur free carthartt pants …mayb b a commercial.

  37. 5:15 Or 3 hours when the rest of the crew comes in and Tommy retires to his trailer with a Scotch and a Cuban….

  38. 4:50 Helps the have extra $300 screwguns on the job…

  39. U think , I realize ur bosten but u c Joe Namath with Howard stern..I kinda wondering didn't Joe get a life time suppy of women's panty hose after that 60s commercial..I thinken great office pool ,is he wearing ?..

  40. I guess no opening house after everyone's left Hanky panky on the granite top..just think 150 years from there's a story about that impression on granite.

  41. Tommy I hope you can come to my town and help us to install a new kitchen please . I am dying to get new one ☝️ in my house 🏡 for years .

  42. U guys should b kinder tell young host that's not a stick but a level.

  43. Has new host learned how to pronounce ' hammer ' yet.

  44. Delivery BOY or GIRL..Another first for TOH…don't ask don't tell.
