  1. Great vid. Need sanding grit added. “Then u can invite people to your house again.” 😂

  2. Thanks for the great video. I have question. Is there any reason that you did not fill the gap first, then tape and mud the rest? Thanks.

  3. Mayo yummy
If you said miracle whip I would have been pissed.

  4. Hi Justin, thanks for posting such a great informative video. I have a similar crack on my ceiling and searched for help so thanks to you I am tackling that job soon. Have a great day.

  5. Thanks for the video ! Have a crack across my ceiling. I know how to fix it now. Thanks again

  6. I would give it a quick wipe with a damp cloth to get any plaster residue off. Then prep the joint. Good to roll then.

  7. Love learning this stuff! I will remember you!

  8. Maybe i'm missing something? But you need to put primer over compound before you paint that period.

  9. Great video. Short and to the point. Thank you

  10. Great video it really helped thank you

  11. People come over to your house for drinks , food and a piss up. Hardly think they are interested in a crack in a ceiling FFS. 🙂

  12. My ceiling is old 1960s textured brush swirl looking pattern. The crack is starting to droop on one side. I’m only confused on how to blend the repaired part so it won’t be so noticeable. I can’t just scrape off the painted swirl pattern. Any advice?

  13. What if your ceiling is textured😬

  14. So you leave the droop? Just hide it?
Shouldn’t you set it back up? Screw it back up?
    I don’t know, I’m legitimately asking. Thx

  15. im gonna try this fix for the crack i have along my ceiling i will let you know how it turns out

  16. Great video Dustin, my wife and i are gonna give this a go, thanks to you. Also, as part of the slight water damage we had were the tape came undone on the ceiling, we had water go down the wall and it made the sheet rock get water bubbles. Could i take off the excess damaged water bubble part and use the mud and sand it? Would that work like it would for the ceiling repair you showed us? Thanks in advance.

  17. What sandpaper did you use please

  18. So…..I have this from a fat kid falling through my attic several years ago, and probably damaging a joist. Can you make a video on that shit? Please. I need to fix this bro and I'm beyond intimidated.

  19. You didn’t need to prime it before you painted? Awesome job…

  20. You skipped a step, you should prime it before you paint it to seal it. Otherwise the mud will discolor the paint a bit . Otherwise looks good, some will need a third coat of premixed mud since you can thin that down easier.

  21. Dukes or store brand mayonnaise?

  22. suggestions:
    – you may want to put screws along the crack. Without ceiling properly attached to timber joist, the board would flex a lot, then cracks will come back soon.
    – you may need undercoat/sealer before painting. Otherwise there would be flashing effect that people see contour of the patch from certain angle
    – when mixing powder, it is better to do it outside with mask on. Drywall power is not good for your health.

  23. Has the crack returned? What caused it? Is the house falling apart? My garage has this and I'm losing sleep over it

  24. How does this work when you have popcorn ceiling?

  25. Great video and tunes as well – what’s the song??

  26. Love your content 👍🏼 but the man bun naaa 🤣

  27. How do we know that it's not water damage?

  28. what cause the crack in the first place? don't you have to use drywall screws to hold it so it doesn't crack again?

  29. Awesome! What if the ceiling has a texture? Its not the sprayed on popcorn ceiling its like a sponge texture or something like it. Idk how i would copy it.

  30. Usually you'd want to prime that mud first before painting, but if the ceiling paint is flat, then you are good to go. I would love to see how to match texture though.
