  1. * 5 Star Help*** our dryer was making a squeaky noise, Maytag epic z.. I order rollers & pulley step by step I took it apart..replaced all a put it back together. I only had 2 screws left over( no clue where they go) ** Dryer works Great*. Thank You,**. Wife is happy*

  2. Thanks for this video. I replaced rollers, tension pulley ,belt and drum Teflon slides on front. This is one of the best ways to put the belt on.
Dryer runs like new for 60 bucks.

  3. New belts are a PAIN !! they have memory and flip and flop, I used painters tape and taped it to the drum, took off the rear access door and in 2 seconds the belt was on and on right. A quick rotation and pull off the tape and ta daaa low stress !! The belt (pully /tensioner) is the worst part of the whole thing !! I have done a few roller sets over the decades and for some reason the belt bogs me down …this time was a little faster 🙂

  4. who knows the snap ring/clip remove tool model#? thx

  5. In the video there is no mention of lubrication of the roller shafts and they should be lubricated with something.

  6. My old Maytag dryer went bad with a burned heater terminal wire. I took that thing completely apart, and hosed down all the panels, cabinet, bulk heads, and the blower wheel (it’s very important that the blower wheel is clean, along with all ducting). Then I left all the panels, and cabinet to sun dry.
I completely removed the driver motor assembly, blew out the dust and lint from it with compressed air (This too, is very important. The motor needs to dissipate it’s heat, or the motor winding enamel coating degrades, and can cause the driver motor to short out).
I brushed off the dirt and lint from the heater housing assembly, and blew the inside (inner heater section) with compressed air, and took apart the ceramic heater terminal posts that connect the heating element, to remove whatever was left from the burnt wire (The terminal block posts, nuts, and washers must be very clean and shiny for proper contact and conductivity to the heating element). I took a wire wheel to the terminal posts, and Dremel cleaned the nuts and washers. Very important also is to not over tighten the terminal blocks, or you will shatter the ceramic insulator posts (…and 1 new heater terminal block assembly is very expensive at approx. $18.00)
I made my own replacement wire with 12 AWG (American Wire Gauge), and high heat spades and eyelets. I replaced the tumbler guide wheels, belt idler wheel, and the belt itself, since all the original parts had aging and discoloration. The dryer now runs and works smoothly, like it’s new.

  7. Do you do stackable Fridgidaire washing machine. The lid switch is giving us problems then the drum doesn't drain.

  8. Please mention that the first load of clothes might be smoked because of the ash knocked from the furnace, due to the movement.

  9. My dryer is not spinning. When I push the button I hear it hum, but the drum won't spin, not even manually. So I took it apart as you've shown and the belt is in place no problem. How do I know if the rollers need to be replaced? I can see them clearly, but not sure if they are worn all the way down?

  10. An excellent video on something that can save you hundreds of dollars to DIY. As a former home remodeling business owner, I've watched hundreds of how to videos on so many types of repairs. This is one of the best on appliance repair. Thank you!

  11. After spending the better part of the afternoon trying unsuccessfully to replace the belt (I could not "feel" it correctly, blind, with my left hand, backwards) i ended up pulling the dryer out of the space, removing the back vent panel and connecting it from there. It took about eight seconds.

  12. What kind of lubricant do you use on the belt rollers? Also wish there were a clearer diagram of how the belt wraps around the pulleys. Otherwise, spot on – thanks

  13. Hi, I installed new drum rollers and now after 30 days of not using the dryer it smells lime burnt. What is happening? Hope you can help me and thanks for the video !
