How to solder and heat shrink to repair a wire

Do you need to repair or replace a piece of wire, and don’t want to use a crimp connector? Soldering a wire is an easy way to make a long lasting splice that won’t come apart!

  1. Good job! As i used to install car stereos back in the day, I'd recommend getting a thing i think they call Helping Hands – a thing with a metal base with 2 alligator clips to hold the wire.

  2. also,,, love me some tessa tape!

  3. i wouldn't twist the wires then twist them together, i'd leave the stripped ends straight, slide em into one another then twist em together, then solder.. side note VW doesn't approve soldering wires nowadays
