  1. How far away can the connect be from the lock?

  2. This is a very good installation guide. It has worked for me.

  3. This is the second home in which https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

  4. I'm not sure if it's compatible with the new Google Home app.

  5. I changed my wifi and the entire thing is jacked up, I keep trying to re add the lock and it keeps telling me it's already added. Yes I already removed the device from the app.

  6. NOTE do not set it up, unless you have these items nest gard or nestconnect, if you do not have either of those or one of them, you cannot set them up

  7. I would suggest addeding this video from Yale in the description. Yale Real Living Deadbolt – Retracting Latch from 2 3/4 to 2 3/8 inches (22) https://youtu.be/ZKr44hQqY7I .
I feel stupid now. I followed the Nest instructions to adjust the deadbolt length and inserted it, not really understanding what it meant by retracted. Once I was aware of my mistake, I didn't know what it meant or how to retract it as it went against what the paper instructions stated. Needless to say there was confusion and it added time to the install.

The video from Yale, shows what the instructions mean by retracted and to do it before you adjust the length. So I thought I'd share incase anyone else gets in to the same spot of bother. Got there in the end 😀

  8. If the lock wont connect to your connect on your wifi network, set up a mobile hotspot. Connect the nest connect to the hotspot and try to pair them again. You have to push button on the inside of the lock to pair it to the connect before you scan the qr to pair them. Lots of missing instructions or advice that just doesnt work out there.

  9. We need a sequel to this lock that has NFC and UWB support, and digital keys that can be added to Google Wallet.

  10. In google home, go to devices and set priority for an hour to the nest connect. Took a long time and a couple factory resets to figure that one out.

  11. This didn't work for me at all. I tried installing it at my home and worked great. It took about an hour to figure out the Nest Connect because it came with NO instructions at all. – Note to self . . . put some instructions in the box!! Once I got it working at my house I thought I'd install it in a second location . . . that's when the wheels came off the bus! After 5 calls and almost 4 hours of dealing with tech support they offered to send me a new unit. Between Yale and Nest neither one of them had a clue as to how and reset it so I could put it on a new new network successfully. We did all of the steps at least 8 times and they said it must be an issue somewhere. The unit is going back!

  12. Does this still need the Nest Connect or Nest Guard to work? I can't find those devices for sale anymore..

  13. I've been at this for over an hour and cannot get the "pill" to see the lock or lock to see the pill. Very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. For those having issue connecting the Nest Connect to the Nest App, I finally did it by
    1). Turning on airplane mode
    2). Turning on wifi
    3). Turning on bluetooth

  15. Please read the reviews before you purchase and install this product.

  16. Looks like if you go to 2-3/4 offset you loosing half of length of the bolt. Really poor design. You can see it at 2:07

  17. I just installed the lock… but the nest connect bluetooth wall adapter isn't showing that 6 digit code behind it , that my nest app is asking for, how do I find it? THX

  18. Direct me to where to put the code in at

  19. I want to buy one, but it says I need another nest product to connect this lock, and it gives neat connect and nest guard as examples. Does the nest thermostat work?? I don’t wanna buy those and the lock.

  20. Must have pretty pathetic customer service if so many people are asking questions here (99% going unanswered)!?!?

  21. I keep getting a wifi error and won’t connect to my other nest crap. Ugh.
