I have a clubbed thumb and back in school my friend would always grab my hand saying I have cute thumbs. She's a nail technician now and is always hounding me to do my nails … particularly my thumb xD Tbh Idc too much about it.
As someone who has clubbed thumbs (and does their own nails) I recommend going with an almond shape. People don’t comment on my thumbs at all anymore. I also don’t paint all the sides all the way, I leave a gap to make them look slightly thinner.
I have learned to do my own nails for fear of being given a hard time by salon worker. My issue is I'm right handed and I only have 1 club thumb and it's on my right hand! I struggle to work the nail left handed but I do my best. It's far and few in between that I do my nails and when I do, I can only take them for 3 days before I'm cutting them down. I type for a living. Very hard to type with nails on. You have done an amazing job with this nail.
I have such a thumb, and number 0 does not come from side to side either. I'm glad the issue is raised😍. I usually hide the thumb, all the other fingers are long and thin and a gentle hand … nothing to this day has held on to that thumb. I am interested to know if and how long it lasts ….??
Better to deal with any potential health issues than to cover them up

I've had many nail techs ask if I "injured" my thumb. I just show them the other, smile, and say "no, I have a matching set!" Brachydactyly type D is fairly common and we have NOTHING to be embarrassed or ashamed about.
I have these thumbs on both hands they are also flat not rounded as the others .so fake nails have never been possible. You did a amazing Job.

I used to be self conscious about them. (they're on both my hands) but my boyfriend told me a few years back "nah, man it's hot, you know why? Megan Fox got them thumbs" I never felt so pretty before he said that😭😅🌹💖 we been dating 8 years now🖤 he's truly the best

The worst part for me is the part where she is filing the ballerina shape part before continuing anything else. They file my natural nail on the sides to the point it’s raw skin where my real nail used to be. It gets infected and because they speak poor English they don’t understand when I try to explain my thumb nail is not the same as a normal thumb nail. And they don’t shape it right. Yours is so perfect I wish

the last time i went to the nail salon the lady said “whoa you have weird thumbs” i almost cried.
I have one of these nails and I've stopped getting acrylic nails because that nail ALWAYS starts to raise on the edges and then pops right off. Idk if they just don't use the right size or place it on the nail wrong. And then they always try to size it to my other nail that is "normal" length and it makes my stub nail too long. I have yet to find a nail salon that does it in a way that makes my nail look good
