  3. My phone is a ZTE Z559DL from Consumer Cellular. It was given to me by someome that no longer wanted it. I tried to reset it as shown in the vid, but it didn't  work, no
matter how many times i tried. It Never got to the "Set up as new" option and it still
    remained locked.

From what i found, for a Consumer Cellular phone to be unlocked, it will need to be
an unlock-compatible phone licensed to your carrier. Once this is determined, it
must meet the carrier’s unlock guidelines.

Consumer Cellular phones are designed to work specifically with their network.
This means Consumer Cellular phones are locked by default. Their phones are
often sold below cost to be more affordable for their customers.

Consumer Cellular only offers unlocking services after the first six months.
The phone must be fully paid off and have no overdue charges on the account.

This appears to be the caveat with these type phones, as why they cannot be
    unlocked.

    Nice vid anyway, thanks!

  4. When I try the hard reset I get a screen full of chinese texr

  5. I recently upgraded to a better phone and wanted to use my old ZTE phone to replace four remote controls I was using. I didn't have nearly enough space to do so. But, using your method of resetting to factory did the trick. Now, I don't have to mess with multiple remote controls for TV, soundbar, etc. My ZTE has evolved into a remote control for all. Plus, it's a rechargable remote control which saves on batteries, too. Yeehaw! Thank you for the tutorial.

  6. Sometimes it needs to power off via power + volume up and when it turns off (not on the Zte screen) power + volume down
