Issues with HDMI ARC are extremely common and very difficult to solve sometimes. The most common issues presented with HDMI ARC are:
1) The video and audio are out of sync.
2) The audio was working at one point but is no longer working.

this is crazy. I mean really. Nothing should be this hard. I shouldn’t have to watch a video five times because it is so in a foreign language to me. I don’t have an HDMI cable it didn’t come with an HDMI cable. I’m gonna write a review on the stupid sound bar and it’s going to get one star. Then I’m gonna go throw it in the pool.
So I have a jbl sound bar and I unplugged all hdmi and power cables and waited 5 mins, the audio started working again but for only a couple mins, any suggestions?
Hey, my lg soundbar was all good workin with hdmi arc untill last night. I was havin an issue with my lg subwoofer that was rapidly flashing green when I tried to pair it back to the soundbar, so I reset my soundbar, turned it off, unplugged it and I did the same for my subwoofer. I then turn both back on and both paired, but the led red light on my soundbar keep flashing red slowly and suddenly my hdmi arc automatically change to optical that causes the sound from my tv muted/no sound. I tried the pmc, auto, pass through and aerc fix but it just kept changin from hdmi arc to optical every 10 seconds. Please somebody help.
My sony amplifier comes on by itself while looking at my sony Bravia TV. I solved the problem by unplugging the sony amplifier.
I have a Marantz av8805a and a samsung 75" QLED with cec , I'm having issues with sound drop outs that is absolutely annoying and it only happens at night time… during the day it works perfectly no issues, at night it's possessed and sound is loss for a split second then come back on spontaneously sometimes 1 minute apart then 5 seconds apart then 10 seconds apart, I do everything you mentioned like disconnect and turn off amd unplug everything and it works perfectly for about 10 minutes and then it starts all over again, and like I said during the day absolutely works flawlessly without any issues….. I'm using Monster Power Surge protector/conditioner and a Monster Power AVS 2000 automatic Voltage Stabilizer , not sure if that makes a difference, but have been using that setup with all the existing equipment for 3 years and has been perfectly working until I started having the sound drop out issues about a month ago…. I'm lost because, like I said during the day, it works perfectly. At night, it has the issue, only at night at around 8 pm or so…. BTW love your videos. Thanks for your time….

Both are HDMI arc supported, they are connected but keeps on shuffling automatically between TV audio and Audio device for every few seconds which is very irritating. I even brought a new hdmi 2.1 version cable , can you please help
Considering the problems, HDMI eArc is really junk. Finally just went back to Bluetooth. Which means I just spent $$ for 💩.

Thank you so much! I spent 2 hours including a half hour with a Geek Squad tech and I couldn’t get my sound bar to work again. I lost my remote and tried to use an old remote and somehow lost my sound. Your very first advice on checking the HDMI ARC worked. It was off.

Just bought a new Q60ca 65 Samsung and HWQ60 C Samsung soundbar. The E-arc works until I plug my TIVO cable box in by HDMI into HDMI1. Unplug it, and the E-ARC can be turned back on.
I have an odd problem. My cable box died; new box was supplied by Spectrum. After I installed the new cable box exactly as the one that failed, I lost audio and video to the TV. The Vizio 5.1.2 sound bar is hooked up as it was previously. I've changed HDMI cables, reset all components. The kicker is I also have a Firestick and XBOX series X also connected to my tv, and the sound and audio will function normally with the sound coming through the sound bar. Now, if I take the HDMI cable from the cable box and connect it to the tv HDMI port, bypassing the sound bar, the video will play and the sound will play through the tv speaker. Any suggestions to get the soundbar to operate with the cable box?
Having a problem on the Hisense hs214 where I get the sound working and as soon as I switch apps or sources the sound drops and then have to turn off eARC then back on again. Any help is appreciated
None of these worked for my TV remote issue, but this was all good to know in the future.

My solution for fixing the remote issue was going to “connected Devices” on the left side of the Home Screen. Then I went to “universal remote setup” and I selected the type of sound device that was already connected to the TV. I proceeded to follow the TV instructions from there on.
So annoying when one needs to hear the stream so as to fix the stream which you can't hear.
dude how do you fix the audio delay when using dolby atmos for xbox series x?? i have an LG C1 and Samsung Q950A soundbar. soundbar is connected to TV via E-ARC, and xbox is connected to TV. when i have the xbox set to dolby atmos, there's a 400-500ms delay!!!! SUPER FRUSTRATING! Apparently there's no solution! I've tried everything, including your suggestions. all other sound settings have no delay, it's just dolby atmos on xbox X

Im using a itx pc with a epson ls500 projector and a soundbar q930b.
Every thing works just fine 😊 tha only thing stresses me, is that when i start my setup. The sound bar always goes automaticly to tv arc whitch isent bad cause im using arc, but then i have to switsch the soundbar to hdmi and everything inclouding dolby atmos works perfectliy. Would love to have it standerd on hdmi but always switches in the beginnig hehe

How do u stop your 4k player from automatically turning on when I turn on the LG OLED tv? I have an Onkyo 7.2 DA/DTS:X receiver. The Sony 4k player goes into the BD/DVD port on the receiver and another HDMI goes into the ARC port on tv. I like that the receiver automatically turns on, but not the 4k player if I don’t want to use it. So, I turn it off and it keeps turning back on. Is the only solution to unplug the player until I want to use it or is there some setting??? Thanks!
I have a lg s80qr its brand new and after using it perfectly for 1 week the sound bar is no longer doing video passthrough I keep getting a screen that says no signal but I can still hear the audio just no video. I've tried resetting the sound bar and even changed all cdmi cables, I have my Apple TV plugged into the cdmi in port and then I have another cdmi going out to my projector from the sound bar the funny this is I have 2 lg s80qr with the same set up in 2 rooms and the other room works perfectly fine please help I know its not my Apple TV or reject something is wrong with the sound bar

I have weird problem. I've connected realme stick to hdmi 1 port of my Sanyo 49 inch tv. Philips tower speakers via hdmi 2 ARC port of tv. But now I have to turn everything on to make it work. Like if I don't turn on tower speakers it won't switch on realme tv stick which is weird! When I switch on I'm fed up and planning to remove HDMI ARC setup permanently and use it via Bluetooth instead. If someone knows the solution please share your inputs.

My Bose 600 sound bar has no issues with streaming services but it will have intermittent audio loss for a second while playing dvds on my Xbox series X. Everything is EARC and Dolby atmos compatible. I wonder ehy
