Thanks again, these nitro videos are proving very useful. I picked up a Kyosho inferno mp7.5 from eBay which I tested yesterday. It has an old crystal transmitter and after some basic tuning I did a run around a field. I had some runaway issues (unresolved) but the car ended up revving highly upside down before I could block the exhaust and kill the engine. When I next tried to start it, the engine had seized and the string snapped on the pullstart. Now, I find your solution – you said remove the engine? What if I can access the 4 screws by removing the back wheel section and removing the exhaust from the engine?
What if the handle just snapped off the string?

i have this car and the pull start broke very fast but I took a piece of paracord and took three pieces of the inerds and took the pull start apart and replaced it with the paracord and it works great! if you have this problem you should try this its works great!
what is the thickness of a 1/10 size truckls pullstarter cord ?

would have been gr8 if he had of showed how to tie the cord to the black plastic wheel that the cord runs around instead of broken near the the handle wonder why maybe to hard for him but l doubt it anyway thanks

I repaired mine after watching this video and the pull start snapped again. I even used a thicker string I got at a fabric store. Is there any way I can purchase whatever string they are originally using? Or do you have any other suggestions as to where to get high quality string?
samething happened to me u have to take pull start off then u take clutch nut off then four screws and pull engine cover off on piston arm theres a pin sticking out cut a piece off a drill bit slide it in there with spring and ur fixed that spring that drill bit grabs that shaft for pull start

I repaired my pull start but the string dosen't recoil all the way back in and the string is the same length as the stock string and its alot of string not going back in like about almost 2 inchs of string

i just found a way to turn the pull start into a power starter. all you need is a socket and a drill. it works perfect and won't mess up your engine.
in my savage 3.5 when you take the pullstart out the metalic coil comes out so you need to make it again
I have the redcat racing shockwave, and everytime I pull the pullstart it seems to be slipping and not catching, almost like when there is no glow plug in?? Can you help??
