  1. Hey whats up, I have a rockjam electric guitar, when I first used it by playing on rocksmith it worked just fine but now it won't play and when I connect it the guitar the connector feels loose, if I tilt the guitar forward the connector will fall right out. Could it be the connector or the guitar itself? Thanks

  2. i have been wondering if that would or could work, my cable quit about 2 weeks ago. thanks for the info will surely pass it on

  3. My cable has been busted for a couple years now, ive been hunting off an on for a fix ever since. Your video is the only place ive seen describe where the failure occurs and offer a solution. Thank you so much!!

  4. Every time i just put the usb in it buzzes even without the 1/4 inch being in the guitar, what do i do?

  5. you just saved me 40 dollars thanks

  6. My Issue is in the circuit board unfortunately.

  7. I didn´t trust myself at all with soldering but had my cable not working for a year and watching your video I finally convinced myself to do it. It worked flawlessly and I also went in and repaired another guitar cable that didn´t work. So great. Thank you so much.

  8. I dont even get any sound out of my cable

  9. My cable lasted 11 years of pretty much daily use and switching guitars mid sesh. Thanks for vid. Worked perfect

  10. Ok so my cable isn't the problem, it's the game.. It is not detecting my plugged guitar… What Can I Do?

  11. Thankfully, in my country human labour is cheaper than amount of time I'd have to put in fixing it myself, but it tought what's possible to fix.

  12. any ideas on why one of these cables will work on a ps3 but for some reason will not work correctly on a ps4, the console recognizes the connection however in game no signal from guitar, anyone have this issue?

  13. There's a much simpler fix to this problem:

Remove the cable from the guitar then tap a few times on the head of the strings attachment, you'll hear static.

Plug the cable back into your guitar and enjoy, because you just removed said static from your guitar and cable.

  14. My issue was the battery in the guitar. Realised this when I switched to microphone and attempted to tune it. Popped my string because it wasn't picking up the tone properly.

  15. I just wanna know, will a regular usb guitar cable work on rocksmith? @TampaTec

  16. Thanks ! You saved me !

  17. I just bought the cable and it doesn't work

  18. Im going to explain in length why it sounds bsd and how to cut s wire. Then im going to zip through the fix in a confusing manner and throw some words on the screen and a voiceover when i see how dhitty i explainex it.. whrap this around here that there and heres my son celebrating.

  19. Great fix, I have an audio interface. This seems like a much easier fix than downloading unknown software from unknown sources for PC.

I realize that the interface plus asio will give no latency, but if weak solder joints is the only real problem with the cables (minus driver issues) this seems like a simple fix.

  20. SUPER THANKS for the repair bruh! and ur son….! damn he can play! GOOD ON YA MATE!

  21. i swear u fix everything dawg.

  22. Thanks, man. Much appreciated.

  23. Hello !

How do you repair the other end? (from usb)

  24. calling a bass a guitar some people are not going to be happy about that

  25. This is not working with mine and I did the exact same thing broke the same way and it did work before I dropped it on the plug now I have no sound what so ever no wires touching inside plug why is mine not working

  26. I still use to original cord from the first RS and do notice an occasional buzz sound, never really thought anything of it to be honest until exploring YouTube and finding your video, I have two more still in the box from when I tried it on console and again for the newest RS2014. After seeing how simple it is inside the RS cord I'll more than likely be installing a L connector this evening because I can't stand the original because it sometimes catches on things. Thanks for the vid!

  27. Instead of scratching the used input signal wire, why wouldn’t you heat up the solder and clean out the old wire? Possibility of the old signal wire being dislodged when you heat up to make the new solder connection, potentially grounding it out

  28. Thank you. This freaking cable was giving me huge headaches with constant disconnection. Now it is fine.

  29. Thank you very much mate.

Had ideas about how I'll going handle this, but seeing the exact procedure before I start, did really come in handy.
    Cheers ^^

  30. My situation doesn't make much sense. After soldering on the new connector, the tuner didn't respond until after a few minutes. Then it worked for two songs and stopped working again after tuning for the third (same E standard tuning as the others but now with capo), and now it's not working again. However, I tested it with my bass, and it worked fine.

So I'm wondering if the cable was ever the issue or if it's my guitar (black 6 string 24 fret LTD I've only had for a few months). I would've thought the issue was that it was an older soldering iron, but the fact that the cable worked briefly and still works for the bass makes me think that's not the issue.

  31. The buzzing sound isn't always because of the cable: If the computer isn't connected to a grounded power supply, then that might give the interference.

  32. The light at the end won't turn on when plugged in. Plus, it was already buzzing when I got it.

  33. I can't believe it was this simple, but that's my fault for not even trying when I knew it probably wouldn't be that hard.
I need to make some of the connections better to get rid of all the noise, but it DID work!
Thank you very much for this video. Now hopefully I can finally start playing Rocksmith again.
I've had a pretty weird time trying to learn myself, but with Rocksmith I actually found myself picking up my guitar and actually learning.

  34. Mine keeps showing "It sounds like your cable is unplugged…"? Help please!!

  35. Do I need the real tone cable or does some other brand work?
