  2. What did you do with the other end of the wire on the pole? It was cut and no end on it

  3. Never saddle a dead horse? Well you just did according to your description??

  4. Watching from Austin, I used to live in Tyler. Super helpful video, thanks guys!!

  5. Looking for the model of the dimmer switch you used for this project.

  6. Why wouldn't you have turn buckels on the cables to tighten them? Wasnt in the budget?

  7. When you said ambience I started to tune out because I don't speak French

  8. What happened to the night shot? This ending was wrose than the game of thrones ending.

  9. Great video! Thanks for posting this, it helped me a lot.

  10. One thing I learned before hanging my patio lights is that a one-size-fits-all approach will lead to disappointment. Each video I watched had a different approach. The approach I went with was completely different approach from this one as it utilized removavle vertical pipes (5' or 6' long 1" diameter galvanized pipes or conduit that can easily slide in & out of 18" long 1-1/4" PVC pipes that are mounted in the earth with concrete at various locations throughout my yard/patio). These galvanized pipes/conduit with with hooks attached on the top "for the light strings to hang from" are easily removable from the PVC pipes for storage during the Winter months or if I want to change my light pattern in my yard, that too is easily accomplished since the pipes/conduit easily come out of the PVC pipe sections.
    Just my two cents.

  14. Can I use a tree instead of a pole

  15. How do you attach string lights to a house with vinyl siding?

  16. We used this exact same process and the string lights came out awesome!! Thank you so much.. we used about 300ft of string lights..

  17. I am in Australia and thanks very much for sharing your knowledge – I am using solar ones.

  18. I like your video. I have the same setup. Please tell me about the pole you used. What's the material and what is at the top to attach the wire? Thank you.

  19. After you attach it you could use a pair of vice grips and grab the dead horse. Loosen the clamps until the cable can slide freely, and use the eye screw as a pulley to pull the slack out of the full length. Hope that makes sense – seems like that would be easier with two people up there somehow so one person can hold the vice grips while the other guy loosens the clamp.

  20. cable is way to thick for a guy wire

  21. Why on earth didn't you show the end result at night?? Comon guys!

  22. I have some great string lights anyone interested in getting them for free contact me

  23. Cable companies almost always will say not to use cable clamps. Instead use the sleeves and crimp them.

  24. 5:15 Takes pains to repeat "Never saddle a dead horse" but then refuses to show what that actually means.

  25. 4:05 Save time and effort by screwing in your eye bolts using a medium-sized Allen wrench chucked into your drill. Spin eye bolt with short leg of the "L".

  26. @Longview Lights

  27. Where did you get the poles? Right now, looking at metal conduit from HD and spraying it black, but interested in where you got the poles for this project.
