Leaking Window A/C indoors (How to fix water leaky Air Condition)

In this video we explain how to fix a Window A/C Air Conditioner, which is leaking water into the inside of your home.
First, make sure that the unit is not installed improperly. The air conditioner should be tilted slightly down away from the building, in order for the water to flow to the outside.
If the above is not the problem, then it may be necessary to open up the window A/C in order to remove the blockage, which prevents the water to flow outside.
Check out and follow our step-by-step instructions to fix this issue by yourself. The only tools we used for this repair is a Phillips screwdriver, a pair of safety gloves and a piece of wire.

  3. My air conditioner in my bedroom was leaking and I discovered it after it did some moderate damage to my floorboard under the rug. I now know how to clear the drain and hopefully that’s the problem. Thankfully, the hot days are behind us here in Connecticut for several months so the timing is good but I’m going to service it before I put it away, just the same. Thank you for this straight forward, helpful and useful video, I really appreciate you.

  4. mine ac is screw into my window and 17 floors in the air and doesnt have a warrenty anymore , is it pretty much a lost cause ?

  5. I came here thinking that the water dripping sounds were some problem and it’s not! Thank you!!!

  6. Thx u my guy 👍 seriously u rock!

  7. Im a little confused, the water is still leaking out the back. This is a problem for me, because the man downstairs is complaining that the water is staining his awning. How do I stop the water from leaving from the unit?

  8. Thank you so much. That did the trick. The drain hole for mine was in a little different place but I poked around a bit and was able to find it. These units tend to take in dust and cause them to clog. Thank you again.

  9. Good, helpful, no-nonsense video 👍

  10. Awesome video. Thank you so much. Saved for future reference.

  11. I’ll half to try this out came home an my window a/c was licking tf

  12. Check angle first….so simple yet I didn't think to look at that for leaking. sloped outside instead of inside, no more leak. thanks for taking the time to help out your fellow man. appreciated 🤓

  13. Thank you so much 🙏.. my AC been leaking also.. ima have my husband work on it in a bit… Thank u very much 👍

  14. ❤ appreciate the video!! I would like to say it worked.

  15. This is a bad design and has done quite a bit of damage to my home. If they know it's going to clog, why not design these a/c units in such a manner that they can be cleaned without taking them apart? Also, the process of removing the a/c unit dumps water all over me and the floor.

  16. Dude. This video did NOTHING to actually fix a leaky window ac. It was just "here's how to take it apart and see where the water goes". Absolutely no information on how to fix it if the water isn't going where it's supposed to.

  17. I'M SO GLAD THAT I PULLED UP THIS VIDEO OF ??? 's WHY IS MY APARTMENT SIZE GE AIR CONDITIONER DRIPPING WATER IN MY LIVING ROOM.. I WATCH HIS VIDEO BUT WHEN HE SAID IT COULD BE THE FILTER SO WHEN THE FILTER RED LIGHT CAME ON TOOK THE FILTER OUT WASHED IT WITH DISH DETERGENT AND RUNNING HOT WATER. BUT I REALIZED LIKE A DAY AFTER THAT'S WHEN IT STARTED DRIPPING WATER IN MY LIVING ROOM. IT'S A GE SO I THINK THAT I NEED TO FIND THE DRAIN HOLE OR I NEED TO TILT IT GOING OUT OF THE WINDOW BECAUSE AUGUST IS NOT A JOKE.. I JUST WANNA SAY THANK YOU FOR TAKING YOUR TIME TO EXPLAIN..🔥🥵

  18. Mine is leaking from the right side, close to the front. I'm definitely going to try this, thank you so much for the detailed walk through explaining it so well! I'm confident that my son and I will be able to determine what is causing the leak. Thank you!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

  19. Cómo es que funciona el reset Filter en ese aire acondicionado yo tengo uno igual pero no le encuentro la forma otra de las cosas quien me puede ayudar

  20. Thanks for the info,
I was able to get it going, and didn't have to remove it from the window.

  21. Thanks to your video I was able to fix a similar older model, thank you very much

  22. This video just loads and loads and loads forever, doesn't play

  23. Great, now why the fuck can't I just drill holes in the fucking thing?

  24. I was able to do this by using a flashlight, spotting the tunnel and running a wire through it through the grills on the side. Didn't have to take it apart.

  25. I can't seem to figure out how to open my AC, the front doesn't open how yours did. Is it possible I can just drill a hole in the back corner for the water to escape? I have a wall AC. Emerson quiet cool 12,000 BTU

  26. Thank you very much! 😊

  27. My AC just started spitting water. Second floor apartment. Uh oh

  28. thanks!! didn't even have to slide the ac- just took off the front cover, found the drain, and ran a wire into the drain hole and the water gushed out of the front into the back section and the ac stopped spitting water thanks!!🙂`

  29. Best how to video on Youtube! Thank-you

  30. ? You didn't unblock anything

  31. I “fixed” my family’s multiple window ac units before, just clogged drain pans. But I was looking for a video where you don’t have to take it out to do the job. I’m lazy to do this on my day off lol.

  32. 🤦‍♂️ helped me fix my neighbors ac unit

  33. Thanks I will try this in the morning. God bless.

  34. Do I add water afterwards? If mine spilled out all the water it had? How would it work after you reassemble?

  35. I need to get certified for HVAC 😂

  36. I had a nightmare with my A.C.. It started out an issue with my A.C. making beeping noises. I did not want to go through the hassles of unscrewing all those screws to open it. Instead the issue was that it was too sensitive. I had thought that if I just cut out the sensor tip, it would solve the beeping issue. The wire you see at the front panel after you see once removing the air filter screen to clean. My issue became one more added. Now I can not set the temperature on the button. It is stuck at 50 degree for good. This caused the issue of wasting a lot of energy. My normal setting was at the lowest is 70 degree on very hot day outside. Last year, I properly installed my A.C. & there was no issue at all.
This year the same A.C. was not installed & sealed up tight. I have a condensation that leaked from the Top & Bottom Front. I got 2 (16 gallons) buckets that I emptied out daily. My Floor was flooded when I did not know. I could not figured where it came from because before it was that a home invader crook had came inside & pour some kind of jelly to clogged the drainage hole. I spent 15 hours cleaning everywhere on the unit & searching YouTube videos on my model & search videos as to what to fix. I got all cleaned up. And for 24 hours the Beeping had stopped. Then I was out about doing my daily living the next day. The beeping noise had returned. I asked myself what could be the problems this time? But then the way it was beeping made me suspected that my intruder neighbor must have came in & stolen my remote control. I searched for the remote control. I got really upset & went out screaming out loud & cursing bad. I screamed for my neighbor to return the remote & threaten to call the police & make a report. The beeping stopped 24 hours. Then started the next day. I would continued to screamed out loud with curses. The beeping sound sounded like someone was doing it. I went online to assured myself that I was right to suspects that a home invader crook came inside my home & took it. I learned that day when searched & learned that the remote can be controlled up to 20 feet. Then the next day an event unfolded that allowed me to know which of the neighbor who actually stolen the remote. By now am sure who was pressing my remotes. For since the beginning of June this year to present day I was bothered daily & 24/7. When I moved near it would beeped. When I am away it would stopped.
I would leave my resident to go out to live my days. The same crook came into my resident. He removed the Forms I installed to stop air flows. He took them with him so I would not suspects. I knew he would returned so I took some picture of what I did. The fact that I can hear the outside told me it was the same crook. He caused a different kind of leaks. I reinstalled it again to make it tills toward outside should he returned again. He came in again & caused a different place & kind of leaks. Three Buckets I used but the water never flows in where I saw it came out. My floor was total damaged. Now it leaked from the top front & where he last came to do. I thought in a month when I takes it off search as to where it came from & I will removes the speaker. I did search YT for the speaker but chosen not to touch it again. Today the crook made a video on why it leaked. Both videos was correctly titled but shown other issue instead. I did a search again @ I found this. But my issue was not coming out due to this issue. I did a video tape to keep for future checking the inside so I never have to open it again to checked. In learned that it has no such hole on either side. Last, I decided to pause for next time when I took the unit for when I will takes out the speaker.

  37. Perfect. Exactly what I needed

  38. How do I adjust the outward tilt. I do not see an adjustment on the unit.

  39. Mine is all plastic. Luckily there are access holes on both sides on the outside end. Opened them up and sprayed the hose across the front toward the bottom. It seems to have worked!!! Thank you so much!

  40. I don’t know what the chances were, but we have the same model of AC unit, perfect video I needed, it was nasty in there

  41. YouTube is awesome lol man the shit we went through before videos like this
