  1. you can also hear he's actually human …. and doesn't play much during the vocal sections. focused on singing. but man … during solos he goes off!

  2. This is maybe the least interesting isolated classic track I've heard because I can hear the guitar just as well in the full mix, and the band only makes it sound better and fuller. But these are great anyway.

  3. As much as I am not a fan of him or his music I must respect that this white british boy can play the fuck out of a guitar

  4. Lovely! And no, fans, it wasn't played by Eric on his Gibson 335 (as one cleverly edited video suggested), or on his Gibson Les Paul either. It's been documented that, on that live recording of "Crossroads", and on Cream's live recording that same night of "Spoonful" (both on Cream's "Wheels Of Fire" album), Eric was playing his "Fool" Gibson SG Standard.

  6. Very interesting to hear it isolated like this. Gives a slightly different perspective of the solo, especially.

  7. Clapton was a total passenger in this band. The other two are light years ahead of him. Even today he still plays the same Robert Johnson and Albert King licks that he stole 60 years ago, never really grew or evolved as a player. Jeff Beck left this guy in his dust over 50 years ago.

  8. As awesome as this is it actually lacks the luster unless you hear his other two mates ripping through this tune as well….

  9. March 10, 68. Winterland Ballroom, San Francisco

  10. The most important live recording in the history of Blues Rock Guitar 🎸
