Welcome back to the channel! In this video I explain the string method used to install front or back glass on a classic car. This method can be applied to a variety of vehicles that utilize a rubber glass channel around the glass. Be sure to install the trim clips before installing the glass, if your car calls for trim clips. Thanks for watching.

  1. Nice job, I always use string too. The car is looking beautiful. Grasias sharing. 😍😍

  2. Factory used a sealant the old guys called " dum- dum" around windshield. It remained pliable for years. I pulled w/s out of my 60 Impala to find some of it was still soft to an extent. Good job on car! I imagine a new w/s would be closer to $700 plus shipping, a big expense. Hope yours doesn't crack.

  3. Should have called me. I've done that on on my old school VW Beetle. Twice. 😂

  4. Love your videos. Why is there a gap on the side between glass and frame?

  5. When I got my window replaced in my 64, they used the same materials of modern cars to seal it especially to keep it from rusting more as just the rubber alone isn't enough, and it strengthens the holding of the glass

Also may have been better to get the bottom in first

  6. VW style I put a few in .

  7. The big name guys use 3M Auto Bedding & Glazing Compound #08509 but it seems to have a Shelve Life of 1 year…………so I have been told or figured out.
Those sides look like a real challenge but with Bobby's help you got it installed and it looks great !!!

  8. Warming the rubber up first helps

  9. Y'all are doing a great job guys!..keep it up!..It motivates me to continue with my build…if it's not time it's money.
