How to Fix Fire TV Cube Remote Not Working (Fast Tutorial)

If your Fire TV Cube remote is not working, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you:

Check the Batteries:
The most common reason for a non-responsive remote is dead or weak batteries. Replace the batteries in your remote control with fresh ones and ensure they are correctly inserted.

Restart Your Fire TV Cube:
Sometimes, the Fire TV Cube might need a reboot. You can do this by unplugging the Fire TV Cube from the power source, waiting for a few seconds, and then plugging it back in. Alternatively, you can restart it from the settings menu.

a. Navigate to “Settings” on your Fire TV Cube.
b. Scroll down to “Device” or “My Fire TV.”
c. Select “Restart.”

Pair the Remote:
If replacing the batteries and restarting the device doesn’t work, try repairing the remote with your Fire TV Cube. Here’s how:

a. Hold down the Home button on the remote for about 10 seconds.
b. You should see a notification on the TV screen that the remote is paired.

Check for Interference:
Make sure there are no physical obstructions or interference between the remote and the Fire TV Cube. Also, ensure you are within a reasonable range (usually within 30 feet) of the device.

Clean the Remote:
Dust and dirt on the remote’s sensors can sometimes cause issues. Gently clean the remote’s sensors and buttons with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Factory Reset the Remote (if necessary):
If none of the above steps work, you can try performing a factory reset on the remote. Keep in mind that this will erase all custom settings on the remote, so it should be a last resort.

a. Hold down the Back button and the Right button on the navigation circle at the same time for about 10 seconds.
b. The LED light on the remote should blink. Release the buttons, and the remote will reset.

Use the Fire TV App (as a temporary solution):
If your physical remote is still not working, you can use the Fire TV app on your smartphone as a temporary remote control. Download and install the Fire TV app from your device’s app store, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to your Fire TV Cube.
