Is my thermostat bad
A thermostat is a regulating device component which senses the temperature of a physical system and performs actions so that the system’s temperature is maintained near a desired setpoint.
Thermostats are used in any device or system that heats or cools to a setpoint temperature, examples include building heating, central heating, air conditioners, HVAC systems, water heaters, as well as kitchen equipment including ovens and refrigerators and medical and scientific incubators. In scientific literature, these devices are often broadly classified as thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs). Thermostatically controlled loads comprise roughly 50% of the overall electricity demand in the United States.

Its 30 degrese out and my thermostat is broken.
Awesome
Wow, great help. I retired after 45 years as an industrial machinery mechanic – compressors (air and gas), generators, pumps and their control systems. But I don't have the desire to make such a great youtube channel about what I worked on. Just remember an old tech thanks you for helping him bypass a dead thermostat in the heat of a Texas summer. I'll run to town tomorrow, but I want to sleep tonight.
What if when I connect my R and Y wires the circuit shorts and blow my fuse?
What if it's an old thermostat and only has rc and rh for "r"s???

Thanks…
Thanks a lot for this video
Great video π. With those Honeywell thermostats. Isnβt there a way to unlock it if it was in restricted access mode? That way you can then set it to whatever temperature you want in either heating or cooling
Great straightforward explanation as usual. Enjoy your content.
