The only problem I can see by doing this is it looks like the cable wont have to more very much to be at WOT. So you may be at Wide Open Throttle but you barely have to be twisting the throttle or thumb throttle to be at WOT
I don't think this was actually bypassing the governor. The governor is still pulling against the throttle cable inputs. This method is still probably a nice step beyond factory though.
Question if I put aftermarket air filter on 212cc predator engine an I don't have a filter for my OHV can I plug the hose that come from it with a screw on the end of it thanks
Predator engines won’t blow up ungoverned with stock internals. I raced a predator 212 with a Briggs animal 206cc racing 26mm carb and a Honda racing exhaust as well as a vacuum fuel system, on my professional racing gokart for 3 years. Never even had a sign of wear.
Great method. With a little ingenuity, you can make it look better. A spring bracket that looks like OEM made it, and a throttle cable clamp on the governor arm.
Can I use the same method on my Honda GX390 engine?
I have a question why go to all the other trouble if this works do you need a heavy spring to stop the backwards pulling

Or take the whole assembly off and get a slide carb since the throttle cable goes directly to the carb and doesn’t need all that anyway

Here I was thinking you had to take off the backing plate and take the “mechanical” governor off. And the gears off the camshaft. 😢
this takes the cake as the worst way to bypass the governor i've ever seen. listen to anyone else just don't do this
