How to repair a hole in a copper pipe using a click fix patch repair

In this video I repair a hole in a copper pipe using a flowflex copper click fix 15mm pipe repair patch. These are a superb way of repairing damaged pipes as the existing copper pipe does not need to be cut in order to make the repair. These fittings are available from Screwfix for £2.99 please be aware that some people are selling these on ebay for £9.00

These fittings have been trialed and tested by the University of Salford” and invented by Burkert innovative solutions

  5. I have done the very deed myself and repaired it the same way but with a copper pipe connector. Man was I peavd when I realised what I did "laying new floor boards " 😳👍🏿. Must remember to get some of these patches.

  6. I love the way you northerners say repair 'repuuuer

  7. I take it gas pipe is a no go!

  8. How can i be sure that all the water is out the pipe? It's not dropping anymore after shutting off the valve but surely there'd still be sitting water inside? Or does a small amount not matter too much?

  9. That EBay listing says it’s 49cm 😂

  10. Top Bloke!! I love the internet!! muchly appreciated fella

  11. If a hole was made through both sides would two side to side or even one of these be sufficient to patch it up?? One patch looks like it covers more than half of the pipe, so I would imagine two patches would not align properly.

  12. what solder exiting did you use ?

  13. This video maybe coming on 4 years old – but it's still doing the business! Absolute life saver: perfectly explained – perfectly demonstrated. Cheers!!!

  14. What a great idea mate I wish they were available when Dad and I were plumbing way back then though we would have used steel wool to clean the tube first😉

  15. That's one problem solver!Great video!I've seen those patches for sale, but I didn't know they clipped on before being soldered. Great idea!👍

  16. Drilled a hole into a copper pipe inside my apartment ceiling, trying to hang a curtain rod. Pulled out the bit, all hell broke loose. Maintenance didn't know how to turn off the water. Ran for hours. Flooded the 6 floors below me. Wish I found this vid before I got my eviction notice

  17. Brilliant thank you 🙏🏻

  18. Probably would be a lot better to cut out the section of old pipe and replace it. That or silver solder the hole. I can see that lil plate having problems in the future.

  19. Brilliant video…you’re a life saver…many thanks!

  20. If there is still a drip are they easy to remove? What is the best way to remove it?
