  1. Thanks! You helped me fix my door!

  2. That 1st tip I never thought of so I am going to try it next time! The method I've been using is trimming the door which has worked pretty well but mite not be the best way.

  3. The first method worked for me. Thanks.

  4. How to fix a door when it doesn’t stay closed

  5. Thanks! All I will say is DON’T BE AFRAID TO MOVE YOUR HINGES! Some issues are so severe that this is the only method that will work, especially for older homes (mines built 1976.) And I suspect the doors were misaligned at installation. Anyways, I spent an entire day adjusting 7 doors, most which was taken up by 3 doors that would not close. I had need dissuaded from moving hinges by the comments I was reading. I decided to just pick up a chisel anyway as I was determined not to go through another day. Got home, took a look at the doors which were seriously misaligned. I decided right then to move the hinges. 1/2 hour later book doors are closing, no shims, no nothing… MOVE THOSE HINGES!

  6. Thank you, thank you, thank you! SO glad this popped up. 😀

  7. great video a mystery nade easy to solve

  8. What if i dont have space on either side? My door sticks when i try to open it. But theres virtually no space on the left nor right sides of the door at all.

  9. Ok, all of a sudden I can't wait to get home from work tonight and try this on my bedroom door!

  10. You keep saying "you know". I dont know. Thats why I was watching the video in the first place. Thumbs down because you are inarticulate

  11. Thank you for sharing it.

  12. damn…all this time i've been filing / sanding the side of the door that closes and repainting !!!

  13. Method 1 is pure gold and works. Thank you!

  14. I wish that I saw this video a few months ago! Wow!

  15. The first option was the best. I've been dealing with hung doors for 7 years. It cost me .40 for shim sticks and it took me only 30 min to fix four doors. Thank you!!!!

  16. This looks like my doors – nasty dirty looking gold hinges with paint on them. Hence why I’m changing them all to clean brushes silver. Thanks

  17. Excellent tip.
    Keep up the good work.
