How to replace the surround on a 10″ speaker. This is also called refoaming a speaker but I prefer the rubber surrounds.

  1. How can I gate all the sparse for fixe speakers

  2. I'm sure this repair was more than great, and perhaps the manufacturer doesn't actually recommend it, but it might be a good idea would be to use a very fine 300 plus grit sandpaper just on the perimeter of the new surround where it's being applied to the speaker just to ensure a perfect Bond with the product. Although I imagine it would be more likely for a failure to be with the speaker and the product as opposed to the new surround and the product🤔🤷
Debating on treating a pair of Klipsch kg4 s before selling them.

  3. Nice job! Try Beastie boys Intergalactic for a woofer test next time lol! About to re-glue the surround on an infinity sub – someone used Flex Seal and it did not form a strong bond. I'm going to use Gel Superglue (CA Glue) as i read that's usually what is used by the manufacturers.

  4. I have a bunch of speakers that need repairing. I have watched dozens of videos on how to do it, but none of them mentioned anything about the ability to use rubber. They also said it was very hard to center it, (let a professional do it, in other words) but you didn't seem to have any problem at all? So now I'm wondering if I should send them off for repair or try to replace the foam with rubber myself?

  5. Good video but. Before putting glue on. I wipe all surfaces with white spirit…. Lightly….. Assists bonding

  6. What was the brand of glue you were using? 🤔

  7. Good ole nice effective repair.👍

  8. Would you use the same adhesive for the center? The center come off of mine. I guess you would call it the cone..? It doesn’t effect the sound but it’s the jensen (eagle) logo on a concert speaker. So, it effects the look/display of speakers.

  9. jbl tlx 45 What do you think about this one there is two part

  11. Wellbond look like elmers glue

  12. What are the make of the speakers you are repairing..? What model number? Did it work the way you expected to? Did you notice a difference between the rubber and foam surround?

  13. Isn't the inner part of the surround supposed to go under the cone?

  14. I found a 3-year-old unused Manzana mini towerhouse speaker at home. today I test it but to my surprise, this speaker had an audio issue. when I played music, the speaker's audio went down[lowered] for a sec and the audio came to the original volume and this keeps continuing.plesase advise me how do i resolve this issue

  15. Foam make horrible surrounds.
    Paper is so much superior.

  16. Thank you for adding commentary. All the other videos have lame music playing in the background. I'm trying to fix an 8 inch woofer with a wire that broke or came detached from the coil or wherever it attaches?

  17. I had my Snell speakers "refurbished" by a reputable local stereo seller/repair shop. Are they then considered still a Snell? And, if done correctly, would they still have same sound quality/specs than before repair needed ?

  18. How am I supposed to hear it if my speakers are broken!?!?!?!?
