KERDI-SHOWER pre-fabricated trays are ideal for constructing a shower base and designed to integrate with the Schluter Shower System. They are lightweight and easy to install. They can also be cut to size and extended with dry pack mortar if required. KERDI-SHOWER trays are available in an expanded range of sizes and configurations. Some of these sizes feature reduced thickness to help facilitate curbless shower applications. Many of our trays are also available with integrated waterproofing, making shower installation even easier.

  1. Gotta love these dip sh&$ videos as if you get an open shower. Lol

  2. Why in the world would you display a curbless shower transitioning to carpet?

  3. I got ahead of myself and used the 1/8 x 1/8 trowel to set the shower tray. The subfloor is 100% level with no imperfections, and I walked on it (with cardboard protection) so I feel like the pan made good contact with the all-set. The tray is surrounded on all sides by the existing walls and door width curb, and all-set was pushed into the small gap around the perimeter as the kerdi band was installed. So, no lateral movement of the tray is possible and the tray seems effectively locked into place. Everything else about the installation went smooth and I'm going to water test tomorrow. I'm hoping if that's the one mistake I made, then I can sleep at night. Your videos were helpful.

  4. What if my toddler son broke off the white foam where the drain sits?

  5. In another video it said you could use foam boards to raise the shower tray to fit the drain adapter kit. I can't find any retailer of just high strength foam boards that meet the 80psi specification. Where do I obtain these foam boards to use as underlayment for the tray?

  6. Can OSB be used as a subfloor for a shower tray? What are the acceptable subfloors for the installation? Thank you

  7. Interesting. Funny that they have the walls in cement board and already in Kerdi then install the the shower tray because all other instructions on this says the exact opposite.

  8. I think what is missing from this video as well as many others and the documentation, is what is the minimum hole size required for the drain. I made a totally stupid newbie DIY mistake of taking the drain out of the box, measuring the pipe O.D., what happens to be around 2.5", and proceeding to purchase a 3" hole saw. I neglected the shoulder of the drain, which has a considerably larger diameter. The videos state to not make the hole over 5", but neglects to state the minimum diameter required. With some calipers I was able to determine that the shoulder diameter is about 4.375". So after I mortared the plywood flooring and set the pan in place, I had the unpleasant surprise of realizing the drain did not go all the way in due to the 4.375" shoulder. After the fact I did find find the template provided but it was too late. Turns out the template measures 4.625". So if you're new to this, a 4.5: hole saw should be the minimum size required, just make sure you center it well. If you want more wiggle room, but a 5" hole saw.

  9. Hello, can anyone tell me what to do if my shower area is bigger then the size of the shower pan? Do i buy 2 ?

  10. As a bathtub replacement, how do you trim an offset drain tray (38"x60") to fit my current footprint of 31" x57" in order to ensure that the first row of tiles are at the same height.

  11. To lay the shower pan you can use their (modified) thinsets or you can use an unmodified thinset (different brand)? So you can use either or? What about a modified thinset of a different brand?

  12. how about slope in this pan ? there is slope?

  13. Sorry. I am a rookie. How does the water drain? Seems like the board lays flat and does not slope towards the drain. Any video on how this is achieved using this system?

  14. Are the prefabricated kurbs same density as the thick panelsade for walls? Anotherwords, can a "slim" curb be built using those 2" panels?

  15. The "No Access Plumbing Demonstration with KERDI-DRAIN & KERDI-SHOWER Trays" video was removed and no longer available. Is there a new video link?

  16. Useless video. I have a slab foundation.

  17. What is the minimum subfloor thickness required to support this shower base? Have a 100 year old home with diagnal 1/2" subfloor, would gluing and screwing additional 1/2" plywood overtop be enough?

  18. What if you forget to place the circular Kerdi band around the drain as the last step.. is my shower ruined..?

  19. If my shower has three walls, is it recommended to install the shower pan before or after the third wall is framed in?

  20. I noticed the screws at the bottom of the Kerdi Board weren't thin set…is this because the shower tray and kerdi band go over these screws?
