Jb weld works great as filler for gashes. Sand and work it just like metal. Bonds forever. Did this myself.
I have sweet connections. Got 8 rims powder coated for 300 bucks. But I prefer wet painting. But the thing is the rims was crazy scratched. So the fixed them with aluminum bondo.
Besides….those rims are for the track. Gonna repair my 19" Csl rims this weekend. Gonna look great on my BMW 1 series. Haha

The reason it took so long to dry is because you used glazing putty. Its normally only used for pin holes in body filler.
