What’s better than fixing your tub? A spare car key without leaving home! I started Tom’s Key Company (https://tomskey.com/?utm_source=TomahawkDIY&utm_medium=YT) so you can get quick and affordable DIY spare car keys and fobs shipped to your front door.

Here’s an attempt to repair a hole in fiberglass. This is in a bathtub, but the same type of repair should work for some other fiberglass items. This product is best for horizontal surfaces, not vertical. Find on Amazon:

  1. It looks awful. I'd keep looking for something better. This is an unacceptable patch. Maybe something less liquid would work better – something with a more putty-like consistency?

  2. Wax paper for a vertical, cut out a piece a 1/4 " bigger than the hole then tape it to the bottom side of the hole add the Epoxy cover and tape it closed,

  3. Are you insane? That looks like garbage.

  4. waste of my time. Delete this video please

  5. It looks horrible. That's not looking like something I would want to do.

  6. 3m fiberglass body filler.

  7. Wow, not sure why so many people are mad at you but I liked the video. You made it obvious and clear that the product was difficult to work with on a vertical surface. The video showed how the epoxy bonded. Not sure some of the ideas below would work like using plastic to squeegee it flat? I would assume the plastic would be glued to it permanently or make the hole worse when you try to remove it? So not sure I would do that? Perhaps masking tape and peel it of when it starts to harden but wait too long and you have tape glued to the surface permanently. In the end your repair works and doesn't look that terrible.

I like that this is white and smooth, needs no sanding or painting. For small holes and cracks or chips it looks like a great product and I liked the video, so screw the haters below!

  8. That's an awful product for what I see. You did everything that you needed to do, and the result was terrible. I bought this kit and decided to find a video about it, and now I'm very hesitant about using it.

  9. This is a great video for the do it yourselfer. I used this product several times about five years ago an needed a refresher video. My shower enclosure has cracked three times on the bottom. My fixes have held up 100% but I get cracks in new places. Probably the builder didn't put enough support below. I'm not worried about how it looks. I just don't want it to leak. If I wanted a perfect appearance, I'd hire a professional. This product and your video are just what I needed. Thank you for posting it!

  10. FOR $12 get another kit and sand that mess off of there so it’s flat then DO IT AGAIN now that you learned what to expect😳 you can make that so that its damn hard to find😃
For $12 and an hour of your own time the next time you do that mix just a little bit of the resin and saturate the small piece of fiberglass cloth on a piece of cardboard saturated completely and then stick it on over your whole spread it out nice with a putty knife or a popsicle stick to the corner everything is flat blended in with the surface around it as best you can let that hard then put on one or two coats or maybe even three coats of the resin A little bit at a time sand between coats and it will look just like the day you bought it when you’re done! Thanks for the video

  11. IMO the epoxy is too runny.

  12. atleast there will be no leaks in the tub now😁

  13. Hah! You liked the product? Really? If you used fiberglass resin and the hardener with the fiber sheet you get a whole quart of the stuff and its sandable… and stays where you put it.. then you buy the 2$ tub epoxy touch up paint with the part a and b… like 20$ total.

  14. That's nasty poor job😂😂

  15. All you need is some Bondo-Glass. It's fiberglass reinforced Bondo (the green stuff). Just mix the Bondo with some hardner and fill the hole. Let dry for a half day or longer, sand and paint and your done. These fix it kits are a little excessive.

  16. That was an excellent video, but the title should be, “My First Time Attempting to Repair a Fiberglass Tub with Zero Experience and Zero Research.” Perhaps you could have watched this first… https://youtu.be/6Z3l_sU-hzQ

  17. Whatever you do don't take up cooking

  18. 1 of the worst "how to" videos ive ever seen, congratulations.
