  1. Can I prime with wood glue or paint or something else lying around the house?

  2. did 3 minutes on you scraping the wall.. get to the point. This was too long

  3. I also saw you using Bin primer spray can.

  4. I was told at Rona that a 100% acrylic latex primer-sealer undercoat would work. I primed and their bubbled a lot, right away. Did I use the wrong product, or what did I do wrong?

  5. Shellac is called that because it’s made from the secretions of the lac bug. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shellac?wprov=sfti1

  6. I have tear out like you're showing from removing a bathroom sink back splash.I am replacing the back splash with a new one. Once I use the primer do I need to mud this area since it's covered by the new back splash ?

  7. What do you do if the paper is water or humidity damaged and is peeling worse than this…should I pull it all off ?

  8. Is it worth lightly scoring around the vanity before the demo?

  9. Thanks I was sanding down the paint edges but not this time!!!

  10. Wish I had seen this before I did a very small repair in the powder room. The repair was about the size of a silver dollar and no matter how many coats of regular water-based primer I applied, I always got a couple of blisters. Fortunately the repair was in a location that didn't show too badly. Out of frustration I just painted over it after skimming it with mud. Now I'm better prepared for the next time.

Great videos and love your dry humor Please keep 'em coming!

  11. I'm don't understand why did you put a prime paint coat before you put the mud on ? Does that mean you'll be puting 2 coat of prime paint ?

  12. If I have already painted the drywall without fixing the patch, can i still do the prime and regrout them? or do I have to remove the new-paint first?

  13. Thanks so much, great explanation and demo.

  14. I love your "library" of videos. I wanted to double check what to do on the torn paper first and here I am.

  15. Ooh! I know this one!

Shellac is actually made from a resin secreted by the Lac bug, found in India and Thailand. It dissolves in alcohol, but not water.

Shellac flakes are inexpensive, and you can make the shellac as thick or thin as you like by adding more or less alcohol. It comes in different shades of brown, not with white pigment as shown.

If it dries on your roller, soak it in alcohol to re-dissolve it.

  16. Thank you, very informative.

  17. What kind of mud do you use? What is it called?

  18. Well done video. Thanks!!

  19. Sooo what do you do if you accidently just go straight to mud?😅
