The indoor #NestCam (wired) can tell you more about what’s going on inside your home. You can place your Nest Cam anywhere you need it — on a flat surface or mounted to a wall. Everything you need to get started is included in the box.
Here’s how to set up your new indoor Nest Cam:
1. Scan the QR code on your Nest Cam to add the device to the Google Home app, then follow the usage guidelines in the app.
2. Plug in your camera where you’d like to use it. The camera will chime and the status light will turn white when it’s connected to power.
3. When the status light turns blue, your Nest Cam is ready to set up!
4. Finish set up by following the instructions in the Google Home app.
Here’s how to mount your Nest Cam on a wall in your home:
1. Remove the base of the camera by placing it flat against your hand and twisting counterclockwise. The base can now be used as a wall plate.
2. Choose a spot 6-6.5 ft (1.8-2 m) high on your wall.
3. Hold the wall plate against the wall, making sure the screw holes are parallel to the ground. Then use a pencil to mark the location for the screws.
4. Drill pilot holes using a 7/64 in (3 mm) drill bit. If anchors are needed, use a 14 in (6.5 mm) drill bit, then gently tap in the anchors with a hammer.
5. Screw the wall plate to the wall using the screws provided.
6. Make sure the arrow on the bottom of the camera is pointing up, then turn the camera so that the power cord is at the top.
7. Place the power cord through the gaps in the wall plate, then rotate the camera 45º left and place the base of the camera in the wall plate. Rotate the camera to the right until you feel it click into place.
8. Adjust your camera to capture the view you’d like to see, sliding the cable within the wall plate as needed to hold the camera at the angle you want.
Nest Cam requires the Google Home app and a Google Account — it’s not compatible with the Nest app or the home.nest.com site.

Can this nest cam be used for outdoor monitoring?
How do you get audio alerts or warnings with this? Like if I'm away and I want my cell to warn me with a beep or something? Can't figure it out…
If you mount the cam up. High 10 plus feet. Does anyone make a pole or something like this to take down and put backup. Instead of using a ladder each time?
Hi Made by Google !
I just bought camera indoor wired and already set up in Google home. I can see the video in there but can not see in the Nest app . Can you show me how ?
What if the app not compatible to the phone?
Help! I tried to reinstall my camera but it doesn’t work. Though it worked before year ago when I first used.
The light on the camera doesn’t turn blue, instead turned green stead away. I did restart the camera and phone and even reset the camera but none of them works.
Help! I used my phone to set up the device…everything is cool! Now, we're trying to figure out how to connect my husband's phone to the device. Usually, you have to wait for the device to turn white, then blue, and then you can connect. However, since the device is already connected, the light is green instead of blue. Is this interfering with my husband's connection? If so, now what?
Why is it so hard to move a Google camera from one home to another. My daughter was living with us while her house was being remodeled and she bought two (2) google indoor cameras wired to monitor the baby. Worked great! Yesterday she moved back to her own house where she has a Google Nest thermostat and two (2) Google Chromecast tv modules hooked to her tvs. The thermostat and tv devices work fine. I have spent several hours now trying to setup the two Google cameras on her Google home app and all I get on both cameras is a finish window saying “Something went wrong” 26 times that I’ve tried. Why is this so difficult? Why would a 3 month old camera that worked yesterday at my house not work at her house today? This should be much more user friendly and intuitive. We removed the cameras from the other home, but don’t know how to delete the other home in her app. And of course, there’s no phone tech at google I can call… right?
