How To Install Click Lock Engineered Hardwood Flooring – Easy Home Renovation Project For Beginners!
This was our first time installing hardwood floors and it turned out amazing! We had the help of our friend and building consultant, Josh Brantingham. He shares his tips and tricks that will get you started on the right foot and set you up for success.
This home renovation project is totally doable as a beginner and it was a lot less intimidating and complicated than we expected. With just a few basic tools, any homeowner can tackle this DIY project and save thousands of dollars on the install! We absolutely love our new hardwood floors!

I chose not to give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down. I have viewed this video past the half mark, and I never heard once about prepping the space. I did here that you didn't want to use any glue, and just wanted to work with the click and lock. Is there some suggestions for prepping the space before you begin.
Does this work if the floor isn't fully level in all locations as the pieces will be clicked together?
How is your Malibu flooring holding up over the years? I saw there is a click/lock version that you used, and also one that is tongue/groove. The tongue/groove version has a thicker wear layer (2mm) vs the 1.2mm on the click/lock version, but it would also be a little more work to install.
Engineered Floors have a short life compared to Real Hardwood which lasts for decades if not centuries. That's why there so cheap.
Unfortunately this video is about laminate flooring, not hardwood flooring. Whole different kettle of fish.
After watching that, there's no way I'd tackle it myself. There were a few problems that were only easy to solve because a professional was on hand to say how to solve them.
Why do you cover the floor with that material
So if start on one side you have a full width board but what happens if you get to the other side of the room and only a half width board will fit? How do you figure this out so it doesn't look weird?

How is it holding up without gluing the tongue and groove together?
I have all of my flooring… The contractor who was supposed to install them had an emergency and had to fly home. I still have the flooring. I want to install them myself. This is the perfect starter video. Hopefully by the end I see everything I need to know .. to install them. Love the vibe of this video 🤍 such easy explanation
