As of 2020, no right to repair law has passed in the US. But more than 20 states are considering legislation similar to Nebraska’s, and Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have both supported national right to repair legislation for farmers.
When it comes to repair, farmers have always been self-reliant. But the modernization of tractors and other farm equipment over the past few decades has left most farmers in the dust thanks to diagnostic software that large manufacturers hold a monopoly over.
In this episode of State of Repair, we go to Nebraska to talk to the farmers and mechanics who are fighting large manufacturers like John Deere for the right to access the diagnostic software they need to repair their tractors.

You add in Monsanto's stranglehold on the seed market and farmers are almost completely margined out by corporate control structures. (they have a monopoly on seeds and those seeds cannot reproduce so farmers are dependent on buying seeds from them every year)

Yo soy agricultor y mecánico. Estoy en Ecuador y pasa exactamente lo mismo. Y si, todos tenemos derecho a reparar lo que compramos. Y si, cada ves las herramientas y maquinarias son más electrónicas y computarizadas, lo que te limita para repararlo, totalmente. Sigamos en la lucha de nuestro derecho justo a reparar.
The network is great, the information is colossal and if human beings functioned (and not selfish units) as a swarm for a purpose (agriculture feeding humanity), the most logical and natural thing in the rationale would be not to buy John Deere products and thus forcing the company to differ in ways that contribute to the company and humanity.

A note, latinoamerican normally watch everything in VOSE, if you are going to add a spanish audio then do it in european spanish, I think it would make more sense.
